it is revealed to us
in moments
when the beating of an insects wings
echoes,
a thunderclap
rolling down the mountain valley.
promises of rain
to a famished land.

it is felt by us,
when knees weaken
from the power of our lovers lips,
and a perfectly impregnable bubble
around you forms,
and you know there is no safer place
then in their arms.

everywhere,
invisibly visible,
we are,
cause and effect.
both
master and slave
to rules written long ago.

in our cities
the outstretched hand of a beggar
points upwards
hands reach out
offering to the multitudes
who shuffle about
salvation.
