I posted something similar in DC but essentially when I take my subs I have a horrid problem in talking too much. Don't get me wrong, I know that happens alot with drugs and the whole "social lubricant" thing (especially adderall/other stims) but i don't hear it much for opes.
I do love having passioned convos on drugs, but that goes to a point, like I work retail and customers get all pissed alllllll the time cuz I just DO NOT know how to shut da fuq up.

Anyone else have this problem? Any possible solutions? hahaha thanks guys

Hey sometimes I do the same thing on Subs I run my mouth alot all day it's because of how much energy bupe gives you. Sometimes I wanna just compulsively jump around and run, cuz of how much pep I get from it. What I'd suggest is give your mouth something to do like chewing gum. But besides that just try to think about what you say before you just start blabing... I've been there those subs are quite mind altering.

Seriously? That is a huge misconception; I'm not saying everyone who takes opiates gets all super-chatty like with crystal meth or something, but honestly - opiates generally make people chatty in their own way, not everyone and not always the same and it isn't exactly like a stimulant.. But yeah, I mean absolutely - it's a similar misconception that they make you sleepy - sure you might get the nod, but especially if you don't have a tolerance, it's actually pretty hard to sleep when you're high on opiates.

Most people I hear saying that opiates don't make people chatty tend to be people who don't take them and don't really know.

But OP. if you're talking about subs I assume you've at least moderate opiate experience, weird drug to be taking if you don't (there's plenty of other, better, opiates if you're just looking for a buzz).

Also, last of all - suboxone has a reputation for being a particularly 'speedy', 'stimulant' and 'chatty' opiode.

Being aware of it means you can stop doing it. Just try to end the convo on your end and don't keep going.

Yeah, this is the key IMHO. Just be aware, it's a good trait to build regardless, people who don't learn (after adolescence) how to think before they speak are generally pretty annoying all-round (high or sober).

Ya it's kinda a stupid question but I was looking for something strategic or maybe some method of thought but anyway ya pretty easy fix hahaha
I take it for maintenance but I still get buzzes of it lol

Unfortunately there is no specail way to shut up lol. The only thing is to recognize you do it and try to find an appropriate end to a convocation otherwise you will annoy some people, others are just chatty naturally and will probably feed into the issue.

Just like any other type of social habit, work on it until you master it. You can do it your already half way there in a sense.

Subs are really stimulating for me too, that's why I loved them for work basically made me want to answer the phone. Good luck!

For me its an opiate/opioid problem in general, not specific to Buprenorphine. I've always found I talk a lot more on opiates. I talk more on most drugs in general with only a few exceptions like the more introspective tryptamines, or on the more heady strains of weed where I'm just lost in thought too much to be chatty.

On top of that, being only a partial agonist, Buprenorphine is less sedating/mongy than other opioids, and so you tend to feel more energised and up and about, so it is pretty easy to chat away for hours on the stuff. When my tolerance to opioids was virtually zero I never really liked to go out in public when high on them unless I was just going somewhere quiet with one or two close friends, but if I was taking Bupe I was happy to go to busy pubs and clubs as I was just as social as if I'd had a couple drinks in me.

Honestly my advice would be to try dosing lower, usually me talking my ass off on Bupe comes with me being higher than I need to be. Now that I've experienced the complete opposite side of opioids, where my tolerance made Bupe almost impossible to feel, I noticed the talkativeness and social side of Bupe almost vanished, with only a little remaining - and I had that before, in the past when for example I found 2mg to be my perfect dose, 0.5-1mg would be a lot less talkative than a full 2mg.

So yeah just lower the dose a little and it should help :)

Ya sometimes I'll halve my dose throughout the day and others I'll take it all at once, been doing the ladder lately so I bet if I do the former I'll have better luck haha. Thanks for the input, and I know what you mean, with morphine I'll be all quiet with some friends in light conversation, but with something like oxy or hydro I'll go ballistic hahahahaha.

When I take my oxy (same with bupe when I was on it) I get chatty and full of energy. I try to channel that energy into work and house cleaning. Otherwise if I get into a conversation with someone it never ends because I SO enjoy the conversation I'm having. Opiates give me tons of energy. It takes hours and some weed to get to a nodded out state. I find them more beneficial than stims as stims can make it hard to stay put, whereas opiates just make me feel like I should cleaning my desk, house and do more productive shit I usually don't. Basically opiates make me give a shit and get shit done. Otherwise I'm a useless bum lol.

I wish bupe had any effect on me. I'd love to feel extra chatty.

Ya Im pretty stoked that I've been on subs for a year and a half and still feel them like 90% the same as I did when I first started taking them haha

Talking is just easy and enjoyable whenever you have anything that feels euphoric. You just feel good.

Swim been on buprenorphine for 4 MO now after a 11 year fight with oxy ending with 30 mg Roxy kicking off in swim swim@&& now swim am able to use rec. Is there a danger with mixing subs with oxy swim probably posting this in the wrong place it's swim first time swim is new to this thanks everyone for the info

It's not dangerous it's just kinda naive because the bupe will most likely block the effects of the oxy. Complicated to explain but basically bupe will take out most all high you get from pretty much all popular opiates, for like at least a couple days after you stop taking it (if you are at a dose above 1mg). So ya, also, if you spent 11 years fighting why try to step into the ring again? doesn't sound like a good idea.

The bupe will cancel out the oxy. In other words, don't waste your oxy.

You would need to taper your bupe to low doses < 0.25mg IV and/or < 0.5mg SL to effectively use your oxycodone. And even then, you still might need to dose your oxycodone a couples hours after your bupe dose. Everyone stops experiencing blocking doses at different levels; However, I did estimate conservatively.

Personally, I found once my bupe dose was at 0.5mg IV, I could do my opiate of choice a couple hours after dosing and still dose my bupe the next morning. It's a very tight rope to walk though. Get it wrong, and you will experience precipitated withdraw.
