Talking to inanimate objects on shrooms?

2 days ago i ate 1.5 grams of shrooms for my first time, i experienced the melting into and becoming objects and what not. But my freind who was watching us said that I could talk to inanimate objects or anyhting in general. I never was able to do it.

Did I do something wrong? I even tried "talking" to my dog and nothing

What your friend was probably getting at is that on high doses of psychs you feel "one" with everything and you understand a deeper level of communicating beyond grunting sounds. If you were not able to communicate with objects via talking consider it a blessing. Once you see/feel/taste the universal dance of energy while tripping, you can be any object/person/place/time period...it is only limited to your imagination.

From everyone I know who has done mushrooms (a limited sample, I know) its more normal not to talk to inanimate or non-speaking things, but its also not that rare for people to do this.

This. There were times when I was tripping on shrooms and my friend and I became fascinated with a chip as if it was alive, so much each of us refused to eat it. Then my roommate walked in and ate the chip while we were both staring at it.
