Hello all,

I'm an Aussie currently looking for a job in Hong Kong but I do not know where to start... I'm looking for something to do with Marketing as I have a diploma in Marketing and all of my experience is in sales and marketing, now I am only young (21 years) and I want to kick start my career in Hong Kong as it is my favourite destination I have been to.

What I'm hoping some of you help full BLers might be able to do is point me in the right direction as to where I might be able to look for recruitment places that might be able to help me out or even other forums that might be of some help.

I've tried searching through Google but it seems to just search for Hong Kong jobs not jobs in Hong Kong for Australians..

Thanks in advance!

Ummm... Not sure if this is stupid or not, having not been to Hong Kong, but why would they have jobs specifically for Australians?

They offer jobs for people from all over the world.... Hong Kong is a huge trading capital with a lot of importing and exporting done from it's ports, in other words their is a shite load of money to be made their if you have the right skills and contacts to help you along. I know of a few people who live in HK but they are all in the financial industry which is not an industry which interests me one bit at all..

I found a few sites that could help me about but I do feel my criminal record would be a little bit difficult getting myself a visa to live and work over their but that's something I would have to ask the embassy about...

Thanks for your help guys!

Well your criminal record is going to be very detrimental to your application to work overseas.

The easiest job to get that pays the most is teaching in Hong Kong. Salaries range from $80,000 AUD to $100,000 AUD. The good thing is that you do not have to reinvest or keep the money in the country.

Hong Kong!

Hello ADD fellows! I am currently in Hong Kong for two months on a school project trip, and I was wondering if anybody native to Hong Kong or had spent a lot of time there had some suggestions for what to do and where to party. In terms of the tourist thing, we've already hiked up Lantau Mountain to the giant Buddha, and are planning on a Macau trip. I was wondering if anybody had any good suggestions for what to see, or where the fun hot spots are for young people on Friday/Sat nights.

Hong Kong is awesome!

I think this is more of a thread for AU Social, a mod will probably move it for you.

I hope you enjoy your trip :) I'd love to go to HK. I hope you don't plan to purchase anything you're not supposed to... Asian countries tend not to be nearly as lenient as their western counterparts...

OK I have merged all of the little Hong Kong threads into one Hong Kong thread.
