I think some of you are under estimating the power of acid. Yes, the acid didn't make him kill himself, but it probably brought so much baggage to the surface.
Once I took 3 hits of acid, 5 hours into the trip I was tripping really hard, and was focusing so much on myself/ my life, and at that point I wanted to kill myself soooooooooooo badly... I thought about it seriously, and the only thing that stopped from doing it was I didn't have a the necessary equipment that would make suicide/ killing one self less painful.... the only thing that helped was a long sleep.
