In my pants
I want to try xanax tonight. I've got 12mg, but I plan on taking .5.

I only want to try it, see how it feels. Is it do it once and you're addicted? Is there a chance of me getting hooked, because I read that withdrawal is a bitch- not that I want to go through withdrawal from any drug.

Will I go through withdrawal symptoms just by using it once?

By using it once no you won't get any withdrawals. Some people do find it rather addictive others like myself hate xanax with a passion.

Anyway im shifting this over to BDD because i don't think it's TDS material.

It isn't really possible to get addicted to something after one use. You might have a good time, but at 0.5mg you might be underwhelmed. Still, take the 0.5mg 'cos it's better to take a little less and have a subpar experience than it is to take too much and not remember anything.

No, you will not become instantly addicted to it at all. You might not like it and you might, its really a toss up as android already stated.

Have fun and don't drink on it if you want to understand its full effects so you can adjust your dose/tolerance accordingly.

I'm not saying you can't drink on it, but if you're a rookie you should probably just just find your dose first. If you insist on drinking, be careul and try not to flip a car,

It's very addictive, just don't make a daily habit of it and you will be fine. Benzo WD's are a nightmare so enjoy it just not all the time!! Have fun and enjoy!

i took 2mgs my first time with my friend and we went to a fast food place and ate food and then forgot about it. all i remember is being really tired and chill at my house. you dont feel high or notice anything different during the experience, but after the xanax wears off you remember how you were acting and you remember being fucked up in that situation. for people with anxiety issues it'll give you a high, so if you have those you'll probably really like it. i have a friend who does xanax like every day because it gives him so much relief. if you dont have anxiety problems then you probably won't like it much. i'd only take it if i knew i was going to have a bad comedown, but other than that i dont enjoy the experience very much.

I've been prescribed the same dosage of Xanax since Jan 2006 and I still find it effective for my Panic Disorder.

However when I run out, oh God.

To answer your question though, I think you can take therapeutic amounts for about a week straight with no tolerance before you begin to feel any withdrawal however I could be wrong and everyone's different.

it takes more than 5 mins to hit you, so currently it's just placebo.

Xanax makes me tired, but i like it. I prefer Rivotril (Klonopin - clonazepam) which doesn't make me tired, at least not in a bad way.

As for Xanax addiction and withdrawal, you may refer to Xanax Withdrawal

Of cource, you will not get addicted to Xanax after a few doses. But what is clear - you get accustomed to it much faster that you gid rid of its withdrawals afterward.

i believe you would have to take 2mg/day for a monh to experience any nasty withdrawls....

Hmmmm. Interesting.
Do you believe that if someone were taking between .5-1mg every day they would ever get to the point of experiencing withdrawals, or do you believe this is too low of a daily dose to actually experience withdrawal?

For example, for the last 6 months Ive been taking between .5-1mg of xanax per day, split up into 2 doses (so I never take more then 1mg per day). If I were to stop using, do you think I would have withdrawals or is this too low of a dose? Thanks-DG

^every single day with no break? yes. maybe not terrible, but you wouldn't be right.

Yes I take .5-1mg every day with no break. I sense that if I were to quit that I would certainly experience some uneasiness and anxiety at the least.

Aside from that, do you think that I would be at risk for having a seizure if I stopped taking my daily low dose of xanax?-DG

I did 1mg last night, got pretty tired, and kept dozing off and having weird dreams, but they only lasted a minute or two. I was lying in bed with my laptop, woke up with my laptop next to me- thank god it didn't fall off the bed

Don't remember falling asleep, thought that I had put my computer on the floor.

But today at school, I was extremely tired. I think I might have fallen asleep for a few minutes in class, and I was taking notes, and ended up just describing my daydream, completely unrelated to what I was supposed to write, and my handwriting was just terrible.

Was this normal?

yea it is normal, try not to take it a night before you have school or such. as it does leave you feeling drowsy in the morning. next time try it on the weekend so you can sleep in.
