Taking Xanax before blood work?

I am up for a blood work (no, not a drug test), but for something else and I need to relax since I tend to pass out and get very nervous.
I have some Xanax XRs 0.5mg each.
My blood work is at 700am in the morning.
If I take 0.5mg at 1100pm just before I go to bed and then take another 0.5mg right before my blood work in the morning, will that help me out a bit to relax?

I know this sounds very stupid and dumb, but yes, I do have the urge to pass out when they do blood work on work. And at times even laying down will not help. And I do need to relax or somehow sedate myself.

Thanks for understanding in advance

I use to be like that and even after being an IV heroin addict for 2 years I was worried I would pass out just knowing i was getting blood drawn, frankly i am surprised i didnt. I always have had an issue even when I simply knew i was going to be drained of blood the idea of my blood makes me dizzy and faint not anyone elses. What I am trying to say is I know your pain,

Because it is not a drug test and xanax does not effect other blood test results, not to my knowledge anyway, you should be fine to do it. Lots of times doctors and staff will prescribe xanax for procedures that will cause anxiety and you know yourself better then anyone if it is an issue I dont see why you couldnt do so. If they ask I also dont see why you couldnt be honest, I am assuming you are not too young so saying "i was nervous so a friend suggested..." if anything does happen shouldnt be a big deal. I like to believe most people understand things like that, like if i asked a doctor for 3 xanax because i was flying and am scared I would like to believe because i am using the tool as it is designed for as an adult I dont see why it should be denied.

This is all my opinion though, I never had to go that far. I just never got blood work as an adult until this year, I am 28.
