My recommendation would depend on the kind of opiate experience you would like, and if this is your first time with opiates of any kind. I would say if you just want to get a taste for opiates, take 7.5 mg. That will very likely give you an idea of how opiates feel, though some people just don't 'get' them the first few times or at all. Still, at 7.5 mg you are fairly safe, assuming you are not combining with other CNS depressants. And, 7.5 mg should give you some sort of feeling - perhaps very small, perhaps quite tremendous, but opiates, on the whole, are subtle drugs in a way, for they don't fuck you up like booze, for example, does. You have to let the opiate roll over you, sort of, and that ties into how they can be an acquired taste, but when the feeling does come, though subtle, it can provide euphoria not comparable to much anything else.
Now, if you would like to take a 'hefty' dose for an opiate-naive person and want a strong high, I do not think up to 15 mg would be unreasonable. At that dose, side-effects are much more likely, but not guaranteed to be problematic. 15 mg would give you a strong opiate experience, I would guess, if you have no tolerance and even if you have 'tried' opiates before. The general high would be better, but opiates are drugs to be respected, and like I said 15 mg, for the opiate-naive, could potentially cause a good deal of side-effects such as nausea, vomiting, headache/dizziness, unwanted sedation etc. Make sure you know what you are doing before you do it, though, regardless of the dose. A piece of advice I give to most opiate-naive people is to lie down to treat any nausea that might be present, and VERY importantly BE VERY CAREFUL about opiate addiction. I regard them as the most easily 'hooking' class of drugs, often without the user even knowing it outright. Keep ANY use minimal in frequency, and this way you have a better shot of avoiding the hellish thing that opiate addiction is AND opiates will feel better if not used so frequently. Save them for special times (maybe once or twice a month tops, for best result). I am very serious.
If you want, you can take one and a half of the pills, totalling 11.25 mg in dose. This might be a dose that could knock your socks off, but still keep you from major side-effects (not that I think 15 mg could produce that many, unless unusually sensitive to opiates as some are). BUT, I am not sure what dose is best for you. Honestly, I think 7.5 mg would be best, for you would get a nice taste of it, albeit subtle as the drug is itself, and would not risk much any side-effect experience. 7.5 mg would give you some idea as to how you and hydrocodone (and opiates on the whole) work together, and it would get you good - probably even great. It would be the smarter thing to do with respect to getting to know your natural opiate tolerance, and allow you to start with opiates at more modest doses and not unncessarily jack up your initial expectance out of a higher dose of the drug, unless you decided, based on this experience of a 7.5 mg dose, that a higher dose would be superior for your personal recreational needs and wants. But, be careful with jacking up doses when you don't need to, and again keep your opiate use every now and again. One last heads-up: Often, at any dose, the appealing qualities of the opiate can be missed by certain people who have never taken them before, but this does not mean to raise your dose hastily - wait, try it all out slowly, get a taste for them if you want, but BE CAREFUL about ADDICTION, very seriously.
Also, take your hydrocodone in a relaxed enviroment - no school, not even out and about (for your first few times with opiates or all, perhaps). Just lying down and letting the opiate high roll over you is one of the best ways to enjoy it, truly. Be at home, comfortable. And again, research this drug, and all opiates, before doing much anything with them; knowledge is truly a great thing to have on your side. Also, do not mix other CNS depressants with the hydrocodone (unless you are very dependent and tolerant to others and take them on a daily basis to keep well, but even then be very careful). Okay, my lecture is done, but do heed it, please. Now is when I say to have fun and be safe!
