Taking Tramadol for the first time....suggestions?

So I found a bunch of Tramadol HCI 50mg tabs...they are the ones that dissolve on your tongue I guess. My fiancee use to take them but has moved up to bigger and better drugs. So im running low on my hydro and nucynta and im gonna see what this tramadol is all about. I've never taken it before, but I do have a pretty high tolerance to other opiates. I also don't want to over do it with this stuff as I've read some scary things about it. So my question is...what's a safe dose to take and for those of you that like it, how much do you take to feel good? How long does it take to kick in? Thanks in advance for any suggestions :)
 
Take 100-125mg in a single dose for your first time, and don't redose if you don't want to mess up the clean stimulant feel (one, smooth serotonin release instead of a bunch of mini 5-HT releases by redosing). 125mg of tram for my first time rocked my world with my CYP2D6 enzymes converting a lot of tram in to O-Desmethyltramadol (main metabolite).

People only stagger doses once they're bored with tram's effects, or if they have a high opioid tolerance, but I suggest for your first time to take one, clean dose to appreciate the whole tramadol experience, not just the opioid part of it. It takes about 45 minutes to fully kick in (tramadol) and 2-3 hours for the opioid effects (O-Des).

I was nodding out for a good 7 hours my first time with little 0.05g snaps of dank every hour and a half. Don't smoke too much weed, you don't want to overpower the subtleties of the tramadol high.
 
Well I took 125mg and 2 hours later I was puking lol. Fail! Sentimental...I usually take anywhere between 150-180mg of hydrocodone at a time....and usually twice a day. I didn't think such a small dose of tramadol would make me sick.

That is really odd, because in terms of euphoria, I find that 10mg of hydrocodone is about equal to 100mg of tramadol. Did you experience anything other than the nausea / vomiting? Maybe something else cause the stomach issues...
 
Honestly I recommend don't. It has a lot of serotonin activity that makes it really weird. Out of all opiates I have tried those two where the easiest to develop a dependency on. Even 5-10 mg oxymorphone lines 2-3 times a night and oxycodone 7.5-15 mg lines during the day and sometimes mixed for 2 months was not as bad as taking levorphanol (effects are stronger, but comparable to tramadol) 4-6 mg a day 2 times a day for 2 months after butrans 5 mcg patches for the month. The worst temp fluctuation I have ever had... Pain is not the worst part just every other negative symptom of WD. Honestly it had minor pain after useing vs opana. I have never W/D of heroin, but from what I remember it was not nearly as bad as after useing oxymorphone and nowhere near as bad as levorphanol dependency. The worst part was 50-100 mg of the tramadol did not even help.... I found it caused me too many issues with nausea and dizziness before it even helped with analgesia and sedation.

If anything just start with one and if you feel you need to up your dose do not jump up more than one at a time as they are formulated for 1 dose per pill.... Even though your actually seeked dosage may be more than one.
 
It can also be fairly stimulating rather than relaxing so keep that in mind. I can't take it before bed bc of this.
 
Im not sure if anything else caused the stomach issue...I noticed it after taking the tramadol but it could very well be from something else. I didn't notice anything other than the nausea and vomiting . Samsonite...this will explain why its almost 6am here and I can't sleep lol. Im usually fast asleep by now
 
Try just tasting the tramadol.... The taste is terrible... I feel like if something taste terrible. Not like veggies or weird texture creating an acquired taste, but like bitter and toxic. Honestly this med irritates me being advertised as "the new opiate with less potential for abuse" and is being flooded on the RC market as well as the metabolite.... Seriously what can be better than what the earth gave us?
 
I stagger the dosages because it hits the receptors unevenly (apparently). So if you took say 200mg, one second you'll be nice and high and the next feel nothing. So I generally take 50, then 50 in half an hour and keep taking 50s til i'm in a place where I want to be so there is a steady concentration in my blood stream. It's very addictive shit though, worse than 'real' opiates, so go careful cus it's a bitch to withdraw from.
 
Wow...you guys take Tramadol to get high??? When i lived in Portugal i used Tramadol to get off H...like 3 x 200mg a day, during 5 days. At the 6th day, you take just 200 ou 300mg and the next day (normally) you´re ready to go (clean, i mean hehe). Never though it was powerful enough to get high, although one day i gave 100mg to my wife because she was in strong pain (teeth pain) and she was fucked up for 24hours haha. The truth is that her pain was gone.

You definitely threw up from the serotonin release and stimulant (NRI) effects. When a previous Bluelighter was addicted to tramadol, she had to plug her gargantuan dosages to prevent nausea.

I find that eating within 15-45 minutes of dosing the trams greaty cuts down on stimulant-induced nausea. Do you also puke easily on good rolls/pure MDMA?
 
Yeah I take tramadol.. Some people (like me) tend to actually feel it. I tried just 75 mgs of that stuff from 50 and there was a pretty significant difference for me, and yes it is similar to a hydrocodone euphoria. And it lasts a bit longer, without making you as tired. However, when you do get tired, you will nod off. At least in my experience. I would build up a tolerance for the stuff first before jumping to 150 mgs, stuff can cause massive seizures. A friend of mine took 150-175mgs and he had it bad, was in the hospital for a few days. Be careful.
 
Tramadol is a strange one for me.

Sometimes it gives me a stimulated speedy effect (which i dont like) other times it's given me a nice sedated effect (which i do like) and other times it's done nothing.

Iv'e tried various dosing methods etc and the effects are never really consistent so i dont really bother with it now at all... It's another one of those substances where ive happily threw hundreds of pills away and it's not bothered me one bit.

The stimulant effect of tramadol can cause you to feel nauseous. 125mgs when converted to odesmethytramadol is very low and you'd hardly feel it with that opiate tolerance.

Also, are you on SSRIs or other meds? To take tramadol, you need to be free of drugs as tramadol interacts with a lot of meds. Taking tramadol with an SSRI/SNRI and even methylphenidate would cause you to feel like you felt.
 
The only other drugs I take is tapendadol and hydrocodone. Im out of hydrocodone and wont get my hands on anymore til tomorrow. Ugh...this is gonna be a long day. Normally I would be ok w the nucynta but im low on those too and need at least 5 to feel anything. I want my yellow pills back :( maybe the fact that they are the ones that dissolve in your mouth made a difference? I don't know...im pretty new to this. My drug of choice has always been hydrocodone. Im just looking for something on days I don't have the hydro
