taking the edge off of shrooms?

Ok, I have issues with depression and anxiety. When I take shrooms, this is intensified significantly. When I am in a good mindset, the negative feelings are still there, just below the surface, and the shrooms bring them out.

No, antidepressants arent an option. Ive taken them before, they dont work. And antidepressants make it harder to trip.
 
I find a bit of booze before I start tripping helps a lot. I have problems too with mushrooms, I always hated the depressed thoughts, and the anxiety on them. I find if I get a nice buzz on before I trip, the trip is a lot more easy going.

Another option is to maybe not eat as much? Personally I have an extremely low tolerance to psychedelics. I found I actually tripped too hard off of a single gram of mushrooms, so I tried eating 0.5g and I didn't get too high. After a lot of trial & error I discovered that 0.75g of mushrooms was actually the perfect amount for me. I found on one gram of mushrooms I was really nervous and felt like I was out of breath the entire time, but taking away 0.25g actually did a whole lot. I obviously wasn't as high as one gram but it was still enjoyable and I didn't have many negative side effects (they weren't nearly as noticable)

One more option, is doing E with Mushrooms. Obviously you're going to get extremely fucked up, however, but it really got rid of the depressing thoughts and anxiety. If you enjoy getting extremely high, I'd give this a shot, honestly. But you need to be ready for the horrible come-down.

Also, I found E and Mushrooms really brought out the psychedelic thought processes, which I really love. It made it a lot more enjoyable and seriously opened my mind to things.

Obviously you could replace the liquor with weed, but personally I don't enjoy smoking weed on mushrooms - it gets me WAY too high. It's all personal preference, really.



One more thing, if you do plan on mixing drugs make sure to be extra safe (sorry I'm not trying to lecture you, I just care about the well-being of other people)! Make sure to stay hydrated if you're mixing Mushrooms & Ecstasy! I find sometimes the mushrooms makes me forget to stay hydrated and keep a good body temperature, so you need to be extra cautious about this stuff.

Buy a big bag of shrooms. Then eat half a gram and see what happens. Then eat a gram and see what happens.
Work your way up until you found your comfortable dose.

I finally got my dose perfect last night on the shrooms I had and it was fuckin' raaaad.
1 gram of extremely strong shrooms gives me perfect effects. Colors and breathing walls and a few faces forming out of textures on walls and letters moving on the screen and very giggly happy mood. Hard to go to sleep though. Lasted from 10pm to 5am.

Ask yourself where these negative feelings are rooted. What's wrong with you?
Fix it and try again. Listen to some music and talk to some bluelighters while coming up and then go lay down and watch some funny shit to keep your mind off the bad shit.

If you aren't too confused, video games always help take your mind off stuff.
Something easy, not complex and trippy. Like mario.. mario likes mushrooms too.

I was having a hard time tripping on shrooms and DMT until a few people around here helped talk me down from my fears.
The longer more intense trips are beginning to become much easier to keep calm through now.

MXE also did a lot of weird things too like help me clear up some fights with family members and some other problems I had. Coming back to shrooms after clearing up my problems and also nailing the dose perfect made everything excellent. Couldn't stop laughing it was so good. Was just sitting here by myself loving every minute of it.

Even if you have a bad trip, provided you don't go falling out of windows, you will learn from it and laugh later. It's good for you.
 
when i do drugs such as LSD or Mushies i get really strung and on edge also. the best way i deal wit that is to take a low dosage of benzos (Xanax, Valium, Adivan, etc. it will help you calm down and not have so much muscle tension
 
Meditation does wonders. It helps me surfing the edge of insanity.
 
make the mushrooms into tea. drink very slowly. take a break after the first hour while you get through the bumpiness and settle in.
you only want to break from drinking the the tea for 1 - 1.5 hrs. if you take a 2 hour break and still feel uncomfortable then freeze the tea and try again another day.

add alcohol and benzos as needed. preferably not both and better to use the benzos as a last resort if you want to remember anything from the experience.

tl;dr i find the initial jolt of going to into mushroom-land to be very anxiety-producing, but adding more after i adjust does not produce anxiety.
 
I'd second meditation and I'd suggest kava kava too. I've used it before and it helped me.
 
I like the idea of dosing in 2 stages, I always get a bit spooked on a full 5 gram come up, so have been taking smaller doses just to lessen the intensity, but i like the full blown visuals and skirting around the edges of breakthrough on the higher doses, so maybe doing 3 grams and then dropping 2 more after the first wave hits will be a better way to get the deeper experience without the mind fuck, I'm going to try it and see, I'll report back with my findings.
 
Last time I did shrooms the other night I was playing with my DJ rig.
I barely felt the come up.
When I stopped mixing music and sat down at my computer I really felt the shrooms going.

Maybe dancing and music will help with the come up to keep you cheery.
Keep your mind off it and do something fun.
