Taking Ibogaine without professionals?

I really didn't know where to put this article since ibogaine is such a unique drug. Mods, feel free to move this if this isn't the best place for it.

I'm on 1.6mg suboxone and have been on sub for almost two years. A few months ago I began to actually increase my dose (fromto prevent relapse, due to an insane amount of stress. I'm starting to see that suboxone isn't really a sustainable habit and I'd like to try ibogaine with the expectation of at least being able to significantly lower my suboxone dose, possibly getting off altogether.

Since I live in America, I think I'm going to have to find somebody outside the U.S. to help me get the root bark, and then I can extract the ibogaine myself. That's not the only hard part though. Ibogaine is usually taken with professionals in a hospital type setting in places it is legal. What's the best and safest way to dose on ibogaine in places where it is not? How many trip sitters are required and what is needed of them? Would it be a good or bad idea for two people to dose together?

Has anybody else used ibogaine to lower their opiate tolerance rather than getting off altogether? I think I'm not ready to get off since I'm young, and everybody I know who has stopped taking suboxone for one reason or another has relapsed. However I'd like to move to a lower dose because lower is better and more sustainable. If I do this, how long should I wait after taking ibogaine before going back on sub? Is there a risk of ibogaine causing precipitated withdrawals since it's metabolite, noribogaine, is a mu-agonist?

Thanks

I know a bunch of people who have done it by themslef or just with a friend, although all of those people were very experienced phychonauts with houndred of trips behind them.

So if you are used to the effects of ayahuasca, mushrooms, lsd etc and can handle yourself on high doses of these then sure try a micro dose iboga and work up from there.

But if your somewhat new to psychs then you should not do the strongest one by yourself no, (yes i claim iboga to be stronger than dmt cause of the duration and heavy body effects combined with the mental)

I have a friend who was on suboxone, tried tapering down off opi with heroin before taking ibogaine, and he took the ibogaine but it didn't relive any of his withdrawls. He ended up going through the worst withdraws of his life and tripping on ibogaine at the same time. He told me he literally "saw visions of hell". Ibogaine might not work as well with suboxone as it does with other opiates..

I have my Ibogaine detox booked for May 6- may 17 and will be coming of of 7 years of Suboxone. I switched to short acting opiate on April 3rd and as told it is best to switch at least 3 weeks prior to the Ibogaine treatment as the suboxone sticks so much to your receptors it might not let the Ibogaine in to work...maybe you can try the same thing-

Good luck!

^ Care to elaborate? Welcome to Bluelight!

to the OP: You can buy ibogaine or the total alkaloid extract even if you're in the US, by the way.

Also, I did an Iboga flood dose in my home with a trip sitter who hadn't heard of Iboga until I mentioned it to him. He was very helpful. He did as much research as he could on it before the trip, so that was nice.

I've been interested in Ibogane. But now that i'm not really addicted to opiates, my interest decreased. I find it interesting that some people thing it's one of hte strongest psychs. I'm going to look into that.
