i know there is probably a MILLION threads about this, but i can't find that certain 'one' that relates to me...

i have been taking a *very* small dose of 10mg of celexa for only a few days now. i am fully aware that mixing an SSRI with MDMA will reduce the effects of the MDMA.

I was just wondering if this combination could possibly cause serotonin syndrome? i have searched countless places and can't find a straight answer.. many have said that it won't & many have said it will. IF it is possible, knowing that i take such a small dose... its highly unlikely, yes?

I could try to explain this myself to you, but this thread will do it a lot better http://www.bluelight.ru/vb/threads/72100-SSRI-s-and-Ecstasy-The-Final-Word-(Hopefully). Basically, the risk is extremely low. Usually, the two drugs work against each other, not together to cause SS. However, the thread makes it seem like it is pretty much impossible to get SS from SSRI's + MDMA, it's not. You've only been on it for a few days and have been taking a very small dose; you'll probably be completely fine. I doubt the SSRI is even effective yet. There is someone here who recently got SS from an SSRI while taking molly BUT they also took a large dose of molly, drank a lot of alcohol and were on another medication related to SS. If you still feel uncomfortable, even though I really don't think you should be, maybe just don't take the SSRI for a couple days before hand and afterwards. You've only just started so you wouldn't experience any withdrawals. By the way, I got serotonin syndrome.... not from SSRI's of course! I'm usually extremely reluctant to tell people they'll be okay mixing drugs. But I think you will be fine.

Well just think why you have been put on a SSRI.

The GP/doctor is thinking you must have low serotonin levels, and if your an MDMA user this is highly likely in the first place.
I'm not a fan of anti depressants, but for some people they are kinda necessary just for a bit until they realise stuff like A. they are taking too much mdma, B. They are drinking too much alcohol C. They dont get any sunlight and so on.

So answer the question, Why have you been put on Celexa?
