How long will it take to lower ones tolerance to opys? How long will it take? How should it be done? EXAMPLE=3 oxy 80s,4 oxycodone 30mgs per day=the effects are not much pain relief at all anymore, where at one time it worked great ,even involved some uforia.now even if doubled no effect! :(

right now looking for pain relief ill worry about getting buzzed later.getting buzzed probably put me in this situation.

Two options

Tapering down slowly is maddening but necessary if one wants to achieve previous relieving effects and a bit of euphoria. Taking promethazine, diphenhydromine, and liquids high in vitamin C are potentiators. Second option is getting put on something more intense like methadone or dilauded. But you will always have a tolerance problem. After a year of taking 50mg Done a day for almost two years, my tolerance was NEVER the same. I believe your body becomes so used to the opies that it changes the chemistry in the brain. I may be wrong, but it sounds good!

If you're using it for pain only you may want to think about switching to a different opiate/opioid, as has been said before, and then switching back to oxycodone after tolerance to whatever the new opiate you switched to starts to occur. Taking potentiators is also a good way to make your dose go farther.

Opiate tolerance is one of the hardest ones to bring back down, sadly.

If you're getting the oxycodone prescribed, speak to your doctor about how you're not getting the same pain relief from your dose as you used to. Pain doctors understand that opiate tolerance exists.
