Taking benzo's for comedowns: the -ve's

So what's the harm, if any.. In taking a benzo to cure a comedown rather than manning up + facing the comedown yourself?....Changes in brain chemistry / depression in later days etc.etc
I usually just bare the brute because i've always thought it can't be good to mask one drug with another drug.

If you're doing it too often, you're gonna get problems with withdrawals. And if you're still on the stims when the benzo wears off, you're gonna get a 'rebound' effect which is just gonna worsen the comedown.

Otherwise, no real problems associated with it I think.

There really aren't that many people popping a benzo for a stim comedown on b/l eh!
No one else got anything to add about how they feel the day after - e.g if theyd of prefferred to just face the comedown without downers b/c of more depression the next day.

No there aren't any problems associated with using benzos for a comedown.

Unless you take a long acting one you'll probably feel a bit woozy in the morning or next day, but shorter acting ones such as Xanax probably won't.

There is no way in hell I'd prefer to live through the comedown of heavy stimulate use than take a benzo and get some sleep. You'd probably face more depression if you hadn't of taken them. Personally I don't suffer from depression using benzos.

I won't do stims if I don't have benzos for the comedown. Benzos dont cause depression in me, either, quite the opposite in fact.

benzo addiction is the main worry- happened to a coke addict friend who now has quit the coke ages ago yet has ongoing benzo problems that are seriously harsh

Will also add that almost everyone I know uses benzos for comedowns, including myself. Same as nsauce, I probably wouldn't even do stims unless I had some benzos or other GABAs (or in rarer cases, stuff like seroquel) to help deal with the comedown.

Not to be a dick, but this subject has been covered many, many times so when a topic is less novel, it typically attracts less immediate attention. Give it time though, BL isn't a chat room so responses aren't always instantaneous

The consensus among stim-users whom I've seen posting around here for years has been that using benzos or other drugs (commonly opioids) is essentially necessary for any substantial crash.

Regarding relative harm - if you keep your stimulant use irregular enough and your doses of both moderate, then you are pretty good. As mentioned, regular benzo use is quite concerning given the prolonged withdrawal and PAWS associated with long-term use. Everyone who eventually gets addicted started using them just here and there and told themselves they'd never be someone who gets addicted so be careful. Benzo dependence can easily creep in. Benzos, when used moderately, seem to have such negligable side effects and it's so nice to be able to take something that shuts off stress, anxiety, etc, that it becomes tempting to use them more often.

As long as you are responsible with the doses and frequency, you should be able to use benzos for comedowns without much concern.
