Taking aMT Just Hours After Ingesting Remeron

So I've been prescribed 15mg remeron (mirtazapine) a day for the last year roughly and have tripped on aMT successfully multiple times whilst without any dilemmas. Earlier today at around 3pm I took 15mg and was feeling sedated by 4. It is now going on 7pm and my plans have changed since. I plan on ingesting 80mg of aMT at around 9. Will this diminish the effects in any way? Please don't reply unless you have reason behind your information, seriously if your not sure just let someone else answer. Thank you so much guys.

I sure as hell wouldnt risk it. Remeron acts on a whole bunch of serotonin receptors and so does AMT in mostly opposing ways. Best case scenario would be diminished effectiveness of both drugs, worst well, a dangerous interaction.

Don't do it.

Depending on the drug administered, using an antagonist can make things worse because the antagonist could have activity at other sites that the drug is hitting. This is especially true in the case of research chemicals. When I OD'd on 5-MeO-AMT, the only thing they could think to give me was four injections of Ativan because they didn't know the receptor profile of 5-MeO-AMT.

I took mirtazapine one time on aMT thinking its 5-HT2a antagonism would slow the trip down and through some interaction, it actually made the trip worse.

Also, look at the seizure risk when a hardcore benzo addict OD's on benzos and is given flumazenil for another example.

Also, mirtazapine inhibits 5HT2C causing the seizure threshold to drop which is a cause for concern.

But I wouldn't trust MagickalKat's judgement enough to attempt this, since IIRC he/she has a history of trainwreck drug experiences. On the other hand, retrospective observations are less interpretational.

I think it would be foolish to risk harming your health if you are going to be disappointed by partially blocked effects anyway. It is quite unpredictable to isolate only certain uninhibited parts of a drug (AMT)'s pharmacology while the rest is being blocked. That may cause a nasty imbalance, but not sure what the complications or risk % would really be.

Took it at 8pm. Going on 12pm and it never kicked in. Or hasn't yet. I've eaten ALOT today. When I say alot I mean HEAPS.

Why would u come in asking for advice then go do it anyways, 80mg is a hefty dose of amt, i would not like to be going throufh the comeup of that, n u have taken mirtazipine, it can take hours for amt to come on but after an hour 90 mins u should be feeling it, which makes me think it has blocked the effects, that or it aint amt ! 80mg wud have me puking in an hour

Was a weird experience. Fell asleep and don't remember deciding to. Woke up the next day feeling the typical after effects of the aMT trip. I'm thinking maybe the amt blocked it out temporarily and it took effect some time during my sleep. Why else would I wake up feeling absolutely ruined.

Honestly man, I think you made a dumb choice going through with it before you even got a proper answer. aMT is known for having a rather wide range of effects, including MAO inhibition. Taking it along with a psychiatric medication without being damn sure nothing bad was going to happen is a foolish choice period. Dosing 80mg was plain reckless... That nothing happened was just blind luck...
