taking a hydro after taking xanax earlier in the day

Hi!
I have a lot of experience with xanax (have been perscribed for the past 7 or so years) (low dosage - 1mg for a while, .5 now). I took some (1 mg) earlier today at 3pm (about 4 hours ago), and lucked into getting a hydro (10mg) from a friend of mine, I know mixing benzos and opiates is usually a big no no, but since the dosages are small and spaced out I was hoping to take the hydro tonight. I’m just paranoid and looking for some reassurance that this would be okay.

Well.. noone can say you'll definitely be alright, as there is always some amount of risk involved in mixing benzos and opioid unless you're highly tolerant to both.

But here you do have the advantage of alprazolam (xanax) being one of the shortest acting commonly used benzos. So if it's already been 4 hours and you're going to be taking it in a few more hours then I would say it should be alright.

But you will want to avoid alcohol and don't take more xanax or hydro.
