taking a greyhound bus

Being stuck on a bus in traffic for 6 hours from nyc>boston was a lot more enjoyable with the intarnetz.

don't get yer head machete'd off. i haven't taken greyhound but i've taken megabus and i'm sure it's equally as fun. if yer down to see highways for a few hours it's not bad.

good stories but no one has posted in here sincemay..how did you even find it?

ive never took a bus anywhere i took the train one time and that was straight ...it was only like a 3 hour train ride and normally i drive but i had 5 pounds on me, half oz of coke and 2 jabs..didnt want to risk driving so i bought a one way ticket..stayed a week and then was able to get a ride home with some friends who where at school..i think the ticket only cost me ike 18bucks which was cool cause its cheaper then puttin gas in the car and i had no risk of police..

when i was waiting for the train there wasnt too many poeple outside waiting and i was able to smoke a blunt and this dude saw me smokin the blunt asked if he could hit it and he would give me some of the goose he had, so i was like cool..we got talkin on the train and started talkin about drugs and we started talkin about coke and the kid went on an on about how it was his favorite and how the girls at school love it and blah blah (all shit i really knew cause thats why i was goin down there with all that shit) but i guess it was cause we where drinkin but after talkin about it he really had this urge for coke like "fuck i wish had some coke right now"and i didnt say nothin to him but when we got off the train i pulled him aside and showed him the coke i had and of course sold him a gram..he kinda got upset cause i held out on him the whole ride and he asked for my number and i told him no and then he really got all pissed and i was like bro i dont really know you, and no offense but im not hre to make friends im down there to make money and you kept talkin about wanting to find coke when you got down to school and i had it in my bag so i figured id help you out..

normally i would have never done that but he smoked some weed with me and was letting me drink his bottle of vodka amd just by talkin to him i knew he wasnt a cop or anything like that..he told me he was gonna buy some coke that night, so i figured id help him out cause it was easy money...i gave him a home price too not a school price so i saved him at least 20bux if he was gonna buy some down there

i dont mind tellin the story cause im not really in that business anymore..

This thread has given me the sudden urge to take an extended vacation n go somewhere,

away, but still close,

ive been to San Antonio n Austin too many times,

never been to Houston (cept once but i turned around n came right back :) ), have always wanted to spend a decent amount of time n memphis (blues n bbq, nuff said)

also have thought New Orleans, St. Louis or maybe Denver but who knows

glad i stumbled on this thread tho

I actually like greyhound. very cheap and usually the buses are nice. you meet some cool people. i have ridden greyhound like 5 times long distance ( 300-900 miles) and ive learned at least 2 complete strangers life story almost every time. bad things are having a ticket doesnt actually ensure that you will get a seat on the exact bus you want. if the 5pm bus is full and you are the 51st person in line, then you might have to wait around for the 11pm bus. But in general its a good experience. i have never had to wait but then again i literally stake out the port that im getting on and make sure im the one of the first in line, i just sit on my suitcase, instead of sitting on the station benches and scrambling hoping im far enuff up in line when the call goes out to board the bus.

personally i think i would want to take the late bus so i could just sleep all night

and now i remember i did take a greyhound once from chicago to DC for our 8th grade class trip..that trip was the shit..the bus ride was the shit sittin in the back of the bus with the girls sittin on our laps and sleepin with us under the covers was the shit..we stayed with 4 people in a room and it was with whoever you wanted to room with and we brought alcohol and weed and it was just an amazing vacation..i mean how often do you get to take a vacation with like 80 people you know including your best friends not to mention we where like 14 at the time...i cant believe i forgot about this for a minute but it was like 10years ago and ive done alot of drugs since then lol

I had to take greyhound from Denver to Dallas and back a couple of times. Slow, inefficient and the driver from Denver to DFW said he would kick anyone off the bus if he suspected them of drinking or if we bought beer or alcohol at the rest stops. I got a ride from a friend part of the way back the second time- I was supposed to resume the bus trip by picking it up in Trinidad, CO. The bus stop was at a McDonalds and I got passed by two busses while waiting in subzero temperatures overnight. I finally got picked up close to daybreak and got to ride 5 hours on a bus that was barely warmer than the outdoors back to Denver.

goto new orleans dude id come over and spend that day with ya and show you all that nola has to offer. please really put nola on your top list

If you're going boston>nyc>philly>dc, check out Bolt Bus. I think they're owned by Greyhound but the busses are new, there's a tad bit more legroom and they have wifi and electric plugs. Definitely makes a long bus trip more enjoyable.

There's also Megabus, which I've never ridden on. Their fleet is double decker and also has free wifi. They appear to travel to more cities than Bolt.

Lol something similar happened to me. I got bypassed at a McDonalds cuz I was shooting up in the bathroom at 5 am. Had to wait another 4 hours, but at least I was high.

I took one lately. Wasn't so bad. New York <--> Boston, I sprung for the 'Hound instead of the Chinatown bus. I set up a web site from NY-->Beantown using wireless. On the way back I was sitting next to the most adorable brunette college girl and we kept having fits of starts of conversation and then it would just stop and then I looked down and saw the ring on her finger and realized that I had definitely been trying to mack it where it was not welcome lololol. So then I just put on my earphones and blasted some Dandy Warhols.
