Taking 20mg of Lexapro by accident? Is it OK?

I take Lexapro and I've been on 10mg for about a year now.

I'm pretty sure that there have been times when I've accidentally taken 20mg since I forgot I took the 10mg earlier.

How safe is this? What's going to happen because of doing this? Should I avoid taking 10mg the next night when this happens or should I take it? What happens if I accidentally skip a regular 10mg dose?
 
I'll send this over to Basic Drug Discussion for a quick question OP, and if it turns into more detailed discussion of SSRI's then it can get bumped up to Other Drugs.

You should be fine. I would wait until the next time you would usually take a 10mg dose, and if you're not experiencing any negative effects, resume your dosing schedule.
