Here's yet another cheesefest for you, another song (well, two songs really) from my band.
"Tainted World, Part 1"
I understand we need to stand sometimes
But this doesn't seem too right
Angry wars fought by arrogant minds
Innocents burned in the fight
I can't reconcile the logic in my head
When I think of all those pacifists dead
Poison tug-of-war, no tangible end
Black and white photograph to me
Bombs fall over the children tonight
In a world so pretty
The flowers vanish in awe of the flames
Under clouds of hazy red
No umbrellas for the napalm rain
Arrogance rules again, yeah
I can't reconcile the sickness in my side
When I think of all those pacifists who died
Poison tug-of-war, no tangible end
Black and white photograph to me
Bombs fall over the children tonight
In a world so pretty
"Tainted World, Part 2"
The disgusting thing is that no one listens
Everyone stands by as the cogs rotate
The leaders lead and the people bleed
No one realizing their ultimate fate
Raining bullets, raining fire, mass confusion
People sprawling in the streets, no direction
Collateral damage unavoidable, I don't believe it
Only in a tainted world, yeah
There are possible truths and possible lies
And everyone clings to absolutes
Like we can't change the powers in place
Let's find someone who better suits
The sound of mutually assured destruction
Is throwing care packages and grenades in the same direction
Two hands extended, one greeting, one choking
Only in a tainted world, yeah
"Tainted World, Part 1"
