Today I went to the emergency room after getting into something of a brawl in a club parking lot.
I became restless after an hour of sitting in the examinantion room so I decided to go through all the drawers. I'n not sure what I was looking for but I ended up finding these
Individual packed BD 5ml syringes. With them several individually packed 27.5g and 30g needles.
Im wondering if these could be used in the same manner as the standard BD 1cc for IV injection. If so what would be the procedure?

So the actual needle was seperate from the barrel?
5mls is a pregty big barrel, they tend to be quite stiff , idealy you want 29gauge needle & 1ml barrel.
What do you mean by proceedure?
The higher guage needle the finer it is eg a 25g is thicker than 29, but yeah what you had should be fine.
 
The 1/2" needles are in seperate packages from the barrel. Would this be too short?
Im thinking of testing them out with a couple dilaudids tonight. The plunger is kinda stiff but I don't see any other reasons why they wouldnt work.
 
As long as your experienced with bootin up you should be chill using these the same way. Good find. Going through the draws at the doctors office/hospital are always fun. You don't know what your looking for, but, when you find it there's that big fat cracker jack smile that comes across your face...
 
forgotten is right, the 5 mLs would be better suited for IM injections, though 27.5g and 30g are quite fine and might be better suited for SC or IV injections - muscle is tough, and you need a larger gauge for IM.
the general rule is to never fill a syringe more than 1/3 full, so 5 mL would be appropriate for injections of 1.5-2 mL - good for a very large dose of K, but not really for opiates.
