For a few years now I've had drowsiness, low sex drive, trouble concentrating and things like that and I want to figure out the cause of it. Testosterone deficiency is one possibility. Theres this stuff called beta ecdysterone which is legal, if I have a deficiency in testosterone, would this stuff remedy it?

If you actually have low testosterone, no OTC will ameliorate the symptoms of it. Not in any substantial way.

Get tested. Those are vague symptoms but you know your body better than anyone else.

Heya,

I was going to move this over to Steroid Discussion but I think they mostly handle bodybuilding queries, I'll have a look..

Firstly, there are many things that could cause the symproms you mention. Blindly treating a hormone deficiency which may well not exist is not a good idea at all. Have you been to see your doctor? They can look into it and establish if you do have a testosterone deficiency or not, and check you out for other medical causes too. If you do have a testosterone deficiency you want it treated properly, under medical supervision, rather than self-medicating.. hormones aren't something to mess around with.

Beta-ecdysterone is a naturally occuring plant substance with anabolic steroid action but lacking any androgen action (testosterone is androgenic; this is responsible for things like male-pattern body hair and other secondary sexual characteristics). It would not replace a testosterone deficiency and it could have a whole host of side effects as well..

I would def see your GP about this :)

Next time I see my doctor, I'll get them to test my testosterone levels then. I'll get them to test other hormones while I'm at it to make it worth the €50 for the appointment. The symptoms could also be caused by epinephrine deficiency.
