I'm sure I've done some fairly nasty damage to my liver, but I am still alive and generally in good health (or so my doc says)... so SmokeTrails I don't think you need to be panicking much.
And here we go again...
Your liver will not take anywhere near as much rough treatment as someone who hasn't done all that paracetamol. With those sort of doses, for that long, it might only take something like a bad dose of influenza for your liver to start spluttering or even possibly fail alltogether. Notice in the phrase 'generally good health'. While your liver isn't called upon to have to do too much, it'll function perfectly OK, but any sort of bad infection that requires the liver to go into overdrive might just push it over the edge. Something like a hepatitis infection would get very serious, very quickly.
Bottom line, paracetamol isn't safe over 4000mg a day, take over that for a prolonged period and it's like spending all the money you've got saved up in the 'bank of liver' for an emergency/rainy day. If you've already used it up, you really don't want a rainy day, as it'll turn into a tornado/thunderstorm very quickly
