I know I always say this, but goddamit, september uni holidays I *will* attend one of these things. Now that I've set a goal, I have to achieve it. BAM.
 
tuesday (10th aug) should be fun. haven't been to one of these for a while now...

callie is still over in the US of A seeing grand canyons this week, so won't be able to grace us on tuesdays until 2nd week of september at least...
 
I'm in Sydney now :) Accommodation is pretty nice and someone from the UNSW has spent the day showing me around various places, including the uni campus. Not been up to Newtown yet, but plan to wander up there tomorrow so I know where I'm going on Tuesday.

from UNSW, the 370 bus will take you to newtown :)

okay, it looks like i'll almost definitely be there now, so a couple of questions.

assuming i'm staying somewhere in the middle of sydney (i've got no idea :)), how difficult is this place to get to via public transport?

how difficult again is it to get back at late hours of the night via public transport, or is it far to taxi (note my lack of $$ - and remember that all the money should really be going to beer ;)).

that is all i can think of, though i had more questions. stupid brain.
 
1234: depends on what you mean by 'the middle of Sydney'.. do you mean the middle of the city or the middle of Sydney as a whole?

if you're talking the city.. you can get quite a few buses down george street which take you down broadway and then into King st newtown.. (someone may have to fill you in on numbers)

if you're talking middle of suburbia, you better pray to god you're staying near a train station!!!!

buses run v frequently down king street, and the bank is right near the train station. Just bear in mind that pub transport in Sydney slows to an almost complete standstill/finish/do not run at around midnight.

Papermate: I'm amused that you feel me mirage and keej are an entity ;)
Mirage and I will be there after I finish uni at 8- we may go home to watch all saints (insert gheyness) and then make our way over =D
 
mazdan, people generally start turning up at about 7ish... this is because half priced cocktails finish at 8.

I won't be able to get there til after 9... stupid band rehearsal... :\
