Sydney - Hyperspeed - Macquarie University - 29th November

I have good news and I have bad news...
The good news is that the tix are $63.20. Not too bad for a 9-hour event with some awesome internationals (let's recall that when PVD toured last year most places charged $50 to get in the door!).
The bad news is, if you read the venue infor carefully, you'll note that the 'main arena' comfortably houses 'over 2,500 people'. They are selling approx 4,200 tix for this one. So, what's going to happen when Ultra-Sonic take the stage and the main arena gets near capacity? How do you explain to over a thousand people that they can't see Ultra-Sonic because the arena is full? Does anyone remember the 2002 Big Day Out with the Boiler Room being so damn full they put cops on the door and there were fights for entry?
Still going, but anxious to get some answers as to how they'll work this one out.

that one's an easy one wire, they will just put the other inernational's on at the same time, in the 2 other rooms :)

Wire, you goto Mac? if anyone here does and you know the atrium, it will be "very" interesting to see how its going to be done. But 63 bucks? i mean fair theres the bar, and what ever but some one... be it djs, mikel(fenix) or the uni is making a motza, that said i think as it gets closer more ppl will buy tix...

schoolies will be on for alot of school leavers aswell, so im not sure how that will knock around the crowd? might be there... see if i have any spare cash...
 
I've been to a party once before at the atrium and loved it. Hopefully it isin't going to be too overcrowded because it is a great venue. A resonable ticket price and a decent line-up... I think I'll make an effort to attend this :)
 
Also, Nik Fish, Amber Savage and BeXta are notable exclusions from the list of local DJs. I know that Fish and BeXta have huge egos that usually only Powerhouse can stroke, but Miss Savage is usually at smaller parties, particularly when Mr. Ferris and Yoshi are involved. Wonder what happened?

I'm a 3rd year Macwarrior. Been to lots of partys there pre-2001 aswell. They don't just use the bar, that's just 2 arena's but the main arena is the 2 level setup in the main atruim, with a 3rd level looking down. Its a very similar setup to home. Its the best meduim size venue i have ever seen for a dance party. the main arena would hold about 4,000 wil another roughly another 1,500 in the other 2.
United and Love nations there used to be about $40 and they were with no internationals so i think its reasonable.
 
Hmm, something of a lack of excitement for ULTRASONIC!
Or perhaps it's just because I'm looking forawrd to this one so much. how many others have bought their tickets so far?

got my tik, i goto mac uni and the atrium is a nice venue but for anyone who knows hte uni i really think e7b should of been the venue for hte main arena and the rest of the venues should of been put in the atrium.. and i think 66 is a bit of a rip i dont really give a shit bout internationals most of the time there worst then the locals eg anabolic frolic on nye cept for ultrasonic i wana c those guys do an old school set...
 
Seeing as we're only a couple of weeks away from this thing, would some kind person (preferably someone from Mac Uni) care to suggest a meetup location?

i say a good spot for meetup location would be the games area?? it's probably better to planthe time once the dj timetable comes out...
 
I heard that set times won't be availble until the night of the event.
I would love to come to this, just trying to scam a couple of friends into coming.
