I think it's sensationalism from people attempting to raise awareness of lockouts/restrictions on clubs and stuff. Maybe people didn't worry enough to rally for the cause when 2am lockouts were proposed and instigated temporarily*

I just assume this because of the nature of the site. It's not very information heavy, it's like a slogan that gets a fear-based message across instantly. Also, I haven't read the actual proposed changes that are vaguely mentioned. It seems unlikely that midnight closing times would ever happen, but I signed it because I'm against the idea of restrictions like that, even if they're less extreme.

* (though I did, I sent a letter to Mrs Moore, and received a stock-standard reply)
