6 days of no dosing when you have been going through the process of tapering and no withdrawal at all?

I'm not being funny but are you sure you've been taking methadone? Most people would be in unbearable writhing agony by day 3 at the latest, I know I would have been .

That sounds like an extremely, extremely rare situation. Not impossible I guess, but very implausible. If you have suddenly dropped from 85mg to 30mg you're surely going to be hit by a mass of withdrawal at some point soon as the methadone drains out of your system. I would wait a good few weeks for this to happen and deal with that first before even thinking about subs. If it doesn't happen I would be praising the miracle that has just happened, then you need to stop taking the methadone and wait until you are in a fair amount of withdrawal before you can even start taking the subs or you will be hit by a horrific amount of precipitated withdrawal.

As for the sharp bupe taper there's a thread somewhere specifically about just that but I don't have the link, pm neversickanymore they have it. I would suggest you're getting ahead of yourself here though, there's something very bizarre going on with regards to your methadone treatment.....six days of no juice without withdrawal is unheard of to me. Hopefully someone else can shed some light on what might be going on here, it sounds VERY strange though. Especially when you had already been tapering.

Being nervous is understandable, try to remain calm and don't rush things though otherwise you could end up getting yourself in a really nasty mess. There's lots of knowledgable people here, I'm sure someone will be able to chip in with some information to explain the situation. It's beyond the realms of my understanding though, I have to admit.

same thing is happening right now i know a few ppl tht have been on methadone and havent started to feel anything for almost 2weeks..now today is my 5thday with no methadone and i feel fine..i saw my dr today and was given subutex and i dont want to take it unless i feel i need to..the whole thing is very confusing when i asked to dr. why i didnt feel anything he looked at me like i was crazy and said i dont know so i figured i should just wait until i feel the need to take it?

That isn't normal in the slightest, a number of people all together (getting their methadone from the same source?) and they're all able to go days on end without dosing and are fine?

That sounds extremely out of the ordinary.

Why not just wait until you start feeling withdrawal until you take a dose if that's an option?

This is an extremely strange situation, anyone else got any input they can offer here? I'm lost to be honest, my experience says that it simply isn't possible.

no the ppl that had told me they didn't feel anything got their methadone from another clinic. but here i am again day 6 and i feel normal. like i am getting hot and cold flashes but only when i sleep but i'm sleeping fine eating fine everything is normal i don't know even my Dr looked at me and said "you feel fine? i don't understand how" so even the Dr is confused i don't know i plan on just not taking anything and just waiting it out and seeing what happens and if eventually i start to feel something i will take the subutex if i cant handle it..but i don't understand why i don't feel anything...i mean does it matter the way i eat and exercise? my mom says maybe its my body healing itself because i exercise so much but i don't believe that for one second....idk i'm at a loss

Take it as a massive blessing and not think too hard about why it's happening would be my response. Continue not taking it if that is allowed by your schedule and if you do run in to withdrawal deal with it using subs. As you implied in your first post you shouldn't be able to swap to subs from 85mg methadone but then you shouldn't be able to go 6 days off an 85mg methadone habit with no withdrawal. Be wary though, maybe you're going to be hit by some sort of delayed withdrawal and if you experience cold turkey from methadone like most other people would at an 85mg dose it is going to be absolutely unbearable agony.

It's a shame no one else has any insight to offer as to what might be going on here as I, like your doc, am totally stumped.
