I finish my Narcotic Detox, which I will be starting on the 16th with my doctor. I am currently at two 24mg HydroMorphContin (Second highest dose) and I can barely make it by now since I have not been taking the HydroMorphContin like they should be. So I am constantly getting dope sick, because I only swallow at the most like 18mg of 1 2. I get really nasty withdrawals now everyday because I have been sniffing HydroMorph 24's daily for awhile now, and I have daily Dispensing, I can't take extra or because of Daily Dispensing. Also ever since stopping Lyrica, which I will be getting back on tonight, (been off for about 3 days now).. and yuck yuck, nasty withdrawals from the drug. That needs to be tapered for sure, Lyrica is nothing to fuck with. Especially after being on it for 6-7 years straight and at 300mg BID for a year, and the rest the time 150mg BID. I would always dose like at least 600mg/day or 450mg/day usually when I have it. 8( 8o

Anyways, I have to taper off the Narcotics, and since I am already dependent on Diazepam, and will be switching back to it to end my Benzodiazepine
taper down the road.. I was thinking about switching to Lectopam (Bromazepam) here, as I find Bromazepam to be much stronger than Diaz, and Loraz, and then switching probably to Clonazepam after the Narcotic Taper is Done, and then over to Diazepam for the last of it. ;)

Anyone have any Suggestions, second thoughts as a benzo besides switching to Bromazepam? Please don't suggest Alprazolam, or Xanax because that's not going to happen, Xanax (Alprazolam) is much much overrated, and doesn't have a lot of properties that the other benzodiazepines have.

Clonazepam IMO is the best benzodiazepine to taper with as it like diazepam has a very long half life, however it is a lot more potent than diazepam.

Ashton disagrees with the use of Clonazepam as a Benzo taper due its extreme potentcy.

She suggests the longest half life and least potent would be best for taper ie Diazepam.

Clonazepam does indeed have the potency issue, otherwise it would be good. I'd go for the bromazepam to be honest, to me it feels like somewhere in between diazepam and clonazepam.

I would stay with the Lectopam.
Lecto's are very nice. They make you feel all nice
and warm when used properly.

Maybe temazepam? Or Midazolam? Something hefty then work your way down? Are you doing all this in a professional setting or are you doing it with the help of family? Regardless I wish you the best of luck in this endevor.

That is a horrible idea. It's also harder to come off of. I went into Klonopin WD one time on accident because I thought taking klonopin at bedtime was a stupid idea cause I am on a ton of pain meds for my back..... and it was a motherfucker.... Using diazepam at the end is the best idea..... Frankly I am not sure if I would add klonopin to the mix for the taper at all.

Regarding dose - it's very easy to break a pill up to take less.

Just throwing it out there. (I'm Rx'd 2mg/day kpins, but will take anywhere from .25 - 2 depending on my mood / needs for the day.)
