Benzos Switching from xanax to klonopin

Switching back and fourth from klonopin to xanax works. There both the same potency, with different half lifes. You should adjust back to normal after about a week or two. You can always take a little more klonopin.

Getting sweaty and anxious can get annoying, but you can control it. Turn your mind off. Maybe get some valerian and smoke some bud.

Thx 4 the help, sry bout the font idky it stayed that way, I had posted that from my phone so who knows, anyways, my view of doctors is somewhat negative, I always have that fear that if I say I wanna switch to klonopin or sumthin hell just cut my script out altogether lol.

Personally I would go in with printed paperwork on halflife and efficiency and tell the doctor you've been reading up on the internet about anxiety medications and would like like to try clonazepam if your doc thinks it's a good idea. Always remember to make sure you put it to your doctor like a question if it would be a good idea, they are in charge.

klonopins targets only GABA receptor subunit alpha-1, whereas xanax targets receptor subunits alpha1, alpha2, alpha3, alpha4, alpha5, and alpha6 so therefore you may not feel good because klonopin is not tickling all the receptors that xanax was.

I'm happy yoposted that, as I had not considered that in my idea, also to the last poster, I indeed saw my doc, but he concluded rather quickly to keep me on my current Xanax dose. Which after reading my quoted post, I have to say I think the Xanax suites me best. Though I'd like to try a kpin at sum point soon I've considering purchasing some and trying.

I switched from xanax to klonopin and I hated it. As someone pointed out xanax hits more receptor sites and is actually a lot stronger.. no doctor really ever takes this into account, maybe some. If your taking 1-2mgs of xanax a day and ask for klonopin and get it you might get 3mgs a day but they'll probably just give you the same dose.

I wish i was on xanax...im on klonopin 1.5 mg's a day and i would say its about equal to .5-.75 mg's of xanax.

I also was switched from 1mg of xanax to 2mg klonopin a few months back. I actually have stopped taking any and all benzos in an attempt to just deal with my GAD myself. Didn't really work out as good as I had hoped for, lol. Anyway...I absolutely hated the switch. For multiple reasons. 1. The clonazepam took longer to start working for me, with my anxiety it's more short and intense attacks instead of prolonged anxiety throughout the day. 2. The clonazepam simply did not work as well as the xanax at controlling my attacks. The xanax would kick in quickly, and didn't linger on all that long due to the shorter half life of the drug. This I liked because I would still be able to have a clear mind even though I was under the influence of the xanax. Yes, I was a little "loose" and giddy, but overall..I was very calm and could get things done that needed to be. 3. The clonazepam made me SOOOOOO incredibly drowsy, and that was at the prescribed dosage. I was always lethargic and unmotivated. My anxiety was controlled to an extent, but I was so out of it all the time that the trade off was pretty much equal.

Overall, to me, xanax is a MUCH better drug for both medicinal and recreational purposes. My second is Diazepam and I will be trying that next from my doc next time I see him.

2mg's of klonopin is not equal to 3.5 mg's xanax, or even 2 mg's xanax.

2 mg's of k-pins is more like 1mg(Maybe 1.5) mg's of xanax.

Therefore when you switched back to klonopin, you were taking a smaller amount of benzos.....which would understandably cause "withdrawal" effects.

Just take more klonopin, something like 3-4.5 mg's.

Wrong, according to dose equavilance ccharts 1mg xanax = 1mg clonazepam.
Your personal use my give you a different idea, but I assure you its in your head.

it says .25 mg klonopin = .5 mg xanax. I dunno about that but point is xanax is not stronger.

It's hard to say which one is "Stronger" since they both work in varied ways.. to me, xanax had much more of a punch than klonopin ever did. All klonopin had on xanax was the longer half life, which I fucking hated. Talk about being a walking corpse all day long. I felt as if I was a drunken ghost.

My therapeutic dose for panic attacks with xanax was 1mg. To get the same results with klonopin I needed at least 2mg. Call me crazy, but first hand experience is first hand experience.
