under your bed.
i apologize if this is in thw wrong forum or has been answered.

i was on bluelight a few months back bragging about how easy i found stopping oxy. well, im still on it. i never experience the hellish bodily symptoms described here probably because i never go more than a day without. i am using between 60 and 80 mg daily atm and decided to get the only substitute i can get my hands on and give quitting the old college try.. What i found are norspan brand bupe patches with 20mg total or 20 ug per hour i believe..

i was planning on slapping on 1 patch(am getting 4), cutting 2 up into dose sized strips for chewing and keeping the 4th to slap on in case things got worse than expected, my only real question is how many mg's of bupe per day should i start with if im taking on average 60-80mg oxy perd day?

any response would b greatly appreciated.

Bupe is quite strange in terms of dosage due to there not really being a direct dose conversion, and you'll probably find dozens of pages worth of discussion on whether bupe gets more or less effective at higher doses.

I'd say to start at about 2mg, though i've never encountered time-release bupe, so i'm not sure about how much ug/hour would be equivalent to just taking 2mg sublingual.

Typically speaking, buprenorphine is 32x stronger than oxycodone. So to say, 1mg Suboxone / bupe = 32mg Oxycodone

I would start with 1.5mg and go from there in .5mg increments. I went from 60-90mg oxy/day, and never used more than 1.5mg (1mg after waking up, .5 around mid-afternoon) until I tapered down to nothing within 4 days.

Also, take at least 24 hours or so between your last oxy dose and your first bupe dose, otherwise it'll put you into precipitated withdrawals

I never knew there were patches. That would have solved my gaggin problem with the strips...

I honestly think he means the strips by calling them patches. I'm not aware of patches existing.

If they do exist, they will just make the WD from the suboxone that much worse... :(

Norspan transdermal Buprenorphine patches for chronic severe pain. They come in 35, 52.5 and 70 mcg per hour patches that deliver the dose over 96 hours.

They also have a 5, 10 and 20mcg patch which works over a seven day period.

these are indeed the norspan brand patches. i waited until my wd's were starting, waited a bit longer and then slapped on a patch. i also took a second 20mg patch, cut around the plasticky strip of goodness inthe middle, soaked it in water and some pure alcohol, brought the water to a light boil in a microwave and then just took sips and swished the water around in my mouth before swallowing.

to my great and pleasant surprise, i got high. not just a little high but a lot high. also, it was a cleaner, nicer and longer high than any oxy/heroin/whatever high.. still going now more than 12 hours later.

plan is to chew on the patch as needed and let the other one jut sit there on my inner thigh doing its thing. carefully optimistic atm :)

also, baclofen taken for spasm but in bigger dosages to potentiate the bupe atm, also promethazine and a old school benzo. but nothing new xept the bupe.

ty for the replies!

oh and the bupe is having a very interesting stimulant effect on me! i can nod off easly but also i have tons of energy! strange..
