Switching from Meth to Subs...

Hi
My name is Jen & I am currently on Methadone(have been for 3.5 yrs highest 160mg)...I have gotten myself down to 40mgs. My drtold me if I can get down to 20mgs hell give me subutex. I KNOW the wds are just as bad as my fiancee has been on subs for thesame amount of time. But I would do like a 30 day thing instead of coming down off the meth to 0....anyone have any experiance?? Thanks%)

subutex is wonderful, i used it a few times to get off opiates(in the form of suboxone) and it GREATLY lowers your W/D's which id assume it would do the same to methadone.

it also is a lot safer than methadone, and theie w/d's are not as bad. so yeah itd be a good idea to skip the methadone w/d's and deal with the sub ones. You still may get PAWS from them either way though (Post Acute Withdrawl Syndrome) but thats a lot easier than the initial ones.

Good luck with your treatment Jen! i assume this all came about getting clean off of opiates, so congrats on that keep it up
