So, anyway, I am currently detoxing from my hydromorphone habit, I was at HydroMorphContin 24mg BID per day, and now I am at HydroMorphContin 18mg BID. Anyways, I have a bad intranasal habit with Hydromorphone so I am trying to break that as well by just swallowing them so I can finally get off Opiates after over 8 years and stay off hopefully!

Anyways, I am not detoxing from Benzodiazepines until after i'm off the Narcotics, and this time my new doctor is going to do a slow taper over a few months for the Benzo's since I've been on and off them for so long at very high doses in the past.

Anyways, so today he gave me a choice if I want to switch to Clonazepam and see if that works any better for me than Diazepam. I asked for my favourite Benzo (Bromazepam) - but I didn't get it because he will only use Clonazepam or Diazepam on me. So I think he is actually upping my dose for awhile because I believe Clonazepam is more potent mg for mg than Diazepam.
I am on 40mg/day of Diazepam, and switching to 4mg/day of Clonazepam. Which script would you rather have? The only thing is, I've been doing this since I started - is I have to walk to the Pharmacy every 2nd day..

So.. opinions? Is Clonazepam pretty good for anxiety? I know its quite subtle..as I've been on it in the past many times.

4 mg clonazepam will be much stronger than 40 mg diazepam, but if you want to detox soon why not stick to the current dose of diazepam. Diazepam is the better benzo for taper.

valium is always the taper benzo, small mg doses avail, looooooong hl, and fast onset, also helps physical symptoms thru its muscle relaxant properties
kpin 4mg is probly a bit stronger than 40mg val, depends on u (i know a girl who can take kpin n not get any recreation but a few mgs of valium and shes in blissvile), but generally kpins a stronger benzo and per/mg dose
kpin is excellent for anxiety, perhaps the best only second to xanax for panic attack anxiety, but for GAD and mania/mood stab its the best, also good for seizures and it has serotonergic releasin properties actually, which is the only benzo i kknow of that affects 5htp noticably

what would i rather have? alotta valium vs a lil kpin, but between the doses u say, 4mg kpin over 40mg valium

how did u ever get bromazepam? what was it rxed for and how did he decide on that benzo? i never hear of people gettin rxed nethin other than xanax, valium, kpin, ativan, and sometimes but rarely restoril or librium

actually just made a thread askin that in OD

I say go with the clonazepam it's a really great med with a very long half life which is good in your case. I have been taking clonazepam since I was 24 and 8 years later I am still having great results in controlling my anxiety disorder. I have GAD so I'm kind of stuck on them as my anxiety is out of control without the medication.
It works quite well with the GABA receptors in the brain. Plus a half life up to 20 hours you can't beat that because it's nice to have that when tapering.

I am so happy to hear you will be doing a slow taper it is so much safer and way more comfortable! I wish you the best and hope you get the results your seeking I am so grateful to this medication as it gave me my life back! If you ever need to chat don't hesitate to PM me I will alway's answer. All the best and good vibes!

My old doctor back from 2008 used to prescribe loads of Bromazepam 6mg all the time, and sometimes I could even Flurazepam (Dalmane) - Which is a Super Strong Hypnotic, a lot more hypnotic than Temazepam, thats for sure. Bromazepam I found that I could actually 'feel' this benzodiazepine the most, and it does have a slightly longer half life than Lorazepam, obviously I didn't want the Bromazepam to taper off the Benzo's, because right now I am just tapering the Narcotics. And my doc said the only two benzo's I can write you are Diazepam, or Clonazepam, and he said did you want to try Clonazepam for 2 weeks and see how you do. Only thing is I do have a HUGE Benzo tolerance, because I used to take loads of them back when when I have a specially overseas source.

The reason why I wanted to try Clonazepam instead of Diazepam is because Clonazepam has a much longer duration than Diazepam , although it has a shorter half life (18-50hrs).

Thanks for the replies guys/gals! Much appreciated. If anyone else has any opinions or suggestions please chime in. Thanks again :)
