Switching from Bupropion to Stimulants for ADD?

So last year I was put on bupropion for well... depression and stimulant cravings. I know this medication is also prescribed as a second line of defense for ADD treatment however, and I don't think the doctor I'm going to see has any real way of knowing that my bupropion is for depression.

Would it be a good idea to tell him I've been taking the bupropion because it helps my depression but haven't noticed any decrease in lack of attention/focus/etc.? And that I was prescribed it originally to help those symptoms?

What I mean to tell him is that I was prescribed it because they thought my symptoms might stem from depression rather than ADD. But now the depression is basically gone, with or without the medication, but the ADD problems are still there. Will this be a good strategy for him to see that I still have ADD and to try a different prescription? Or will this backfire?

Thanks!!

Doctors are complicated individuals. I'm sorry but it's impossible to say really.

For example, when I told a doctor I had a severe headache, I was prescribed Amitriptyline which is a Tricyclic Antidepressant.

Well, all went well and I was rx'd 20mg of ritalin a day. This is fine for now... next step is to see how I can either increase the dose or switch to amphetamines!

I can't help but feel like this is a hollow victory for some reason... hmm haha
