Can anyone please let me know if they have ever even heard or seen the new mylan ms contin? First off they are so big omg like ten times bigger than what I have been taking. I took one and was throwing up for over an hr. I have been on these for almost 5 yrs. I have a very high tolorence. I am also given 12 5mg oxycodone a day for breakthrough pain. Oh I get 3 of the 60's a day. Today is first day with these weird new ones and they cause more suffering than relief. I have never ever seen a morphine pill not short or long acting this big. It is almost as big as augmentin. No joke. I am heading straight to my dr to fix this. I have spent hours looking on web and all I can find is that mylan has new approvial for ms contin. Nothing. Plz lmk anything.

No i haven't seen them..
did you do a pill id to make sure that's
what you were actually given at the pharmacy..
they do mess up from time to time..

in any case...you're headed to the dr. which is the best thing you could do..

hope this gets sorted out for you...and you get to feeling better. <3

Btw no mix up...it is mylan...I found only 2 people who have taken this brand ms contin and both said had bad reaction as well...I have researched everywhere and found nothing. .the pill itself is so huge. My goodness it is so big I cant imagine the amount of fillers they used to make it so big. I have literally tried every brand of msc there is and they are all close to the same size....this one is 20 times bigger no freaking joke...I swear on my life the worst brand I would take before this one. Mylan patch of fentanyl is a good brand but for this I think they are just in it for the money. I waited and tried one again today... as I just finally got my new script and didn't make it to pharmacy in time to fill today...tried one again because I thought well what if I was wrong maybe it was a fluke...it was not.. I planned ahaid for nausea and took phinnergin than suppositorie than waited an hr and took the mylan ms contin I didn't throw up but hella sick to my stomach still and oh god no help with pain total headache, felt weak and like I was ill... So I am having the pharmacy now put in my chart im actually allergic to something in them..I Never want to go through something like that again. Done being a Guinea pig this I know...fair warning to antony switching the 2 other people I found both experianced similar symptoms and said had there doctors switch them instantly..odd enough one was on 15mg and the other was on 30mg so I say buyer beware this is a brand that is noticeably different right from the start and for now aside from me I cant find much on it...I say take your script to a Pharmacy that carries Rhodes or sandoz...prob I spelled those wrong but ya..lol I would love to find out more on this stuff.

I have been on the small 30mg.purplel Ms contin for awhile without any negative reactions. Hopefully you can go back to the small morphine sulfate that most are used too.

I recenty broke 2 of my ribs and messed up my back falling off a roof... ive been on 90mg of Ms contin and 5/325 percocet for breakthrough pain. So far so good. Other than Ms contin makes me itch a lot

I realized now that its totally out of my system and im back on the good brand (im taking Rhodes) that when I had came home from the dr I had thaough I was getting a flu and it went away the second day and came back third day lol it all was linked to me taking those stupid new mylan brand. Oh gosh I feel so much better I cant even express in words how badly I was feeling because of those tablets...I have never thrown away pain pills in my life and I actually threw them all in the toilet...they r poison...I know many people who would take anything just to get high and seriously they may think they would have wanted these things but they would not get anyone high no matter how taken and just made them sick..Mylan did the world a huge disservice by making these and it freaks me out cuz the combo of meds im on has worked and I would hate to have to try to find something different. Thank God my dr is understanding and for now the other companies still are making a good product..

I'm curious to know what's in this new formula that is causing such a bad reaction. Must be the way its formulated to release. It obviously is not the normal wax matrix that the Ms contin I'm used to taking is.

I'm going to have to look into this. Ive never had a bad reaction from morphine sulfate ever. I wouldn't suggest it for getting high off of however. Does wonders for pain, but even at high doses it wont produce much to any euphoria taken orally.

I too been on mylan ms contin for six years, and just got the new Huge Pills..!! Yes, they suck..! Wish I would have know about this before I got them. I get home open my bottle and was like WTF..?? You can't even bite down on these or crush em. I had to use a special pill crusher to do the job. I get the 30mg ..I can usually take 7 crushed in a spoon for a nice long pain free feeling. These new ones don't even help with the pain that well..!! If you get a new script of ms contins ask your pharmacist if they have another brand. If not go somewhere else. Now I am stuck with these till next month. I don't get breakthrough meds ..only my ms contin :( Gonna be a long month..!! Mylan ...I hate YOU*

P.S. I also got flu like symptoms from whatever is in them..?? Hope someone can find out what is doing this. After taking them I got a fever of 101 ..and blood pressure went up.?

^exactly what i was thinking.

the time release on these are likely one of the more advanced and the OP mentions crushing pills and taking them.

i've only evern really used and am currently prescribed mundipharma mscontin brand as we don't have a broad range of generics in australia.

i couldn't find any article relating to any safety concerns about the mylan manufacturer apart from this article which has a safety alert because a colour additive was labelled incorrectly. it was only dealing with 200mg tablets.
