Opioids swelling and pain for IV

Today i was IV hydromorphone, i was searching for a vein and tried one on my foot, when i pulled back to register to blood came up so i took it out and didnt shoot, 10 minutes later my foot was swollen up reallllly big, and now it REALLY hurts, it feels like how your muscle feels when you just sprained your foot and hit it hard there.
what is rong with my foot? will it get better,
it hurts to walk and move it.
 
Your post is sort of confusing me. You say you DID register, but did NOT SHOOT? Correct?

I don't really know why your foot is swollen and in pain if you didn't actually do the shot. I suppose you could have hit an artery or nerve and this has caused your problem.

I feel as though I need a clear explanation and more information.
 
probaly hit an arteery or nerve like mr happy said. not4nuthin, ive never known anyone to shoot up in their foot AND NOT end up in serious pain for several days! Luckily, ive never had to expierence this although there were times when i had considered doing it there but in hindsight and as a personal preference I NEVER WOULD!!! Id actually rather do it in my groin if the day ever comes again that i cant hit any superficial arm veins...
