More often than not, my hands are clammy and cold. I've had this problem since as long as I can remember, but it's been intensifying the last 2-3 years. I did some preliminary research and found explanations of 'hyperhydrosis,' but I'm not 100% sure about it. I noticed most of the time it happens when I'm anxious about something, like meeting a deadline or seeing someone I don't want to see. At the same time, it could also happen during the most random moments when I'm not anxious at all, like for example when I'm sitting in a heavily airconditioned classroom or even just sitting on the bus. At some point I thought it could be because of poor blood circulation since I spend several hours a day on the computer, but I also make sure to work out every other day, if not everyday, so I don't know if that's it. I asked this lady at the local pharmacy if there was anything she could give me before I go ahead and contact a dermatologist. She said this is most probably caused by a hormonal imbalance and that visiting a dermatologist wouldn't help much. What should I do?

Some people just sweat more than others.

Do you take any medications/drugs/supplements ? Do you smoke or drink coffee/tea ?
What's the temperature like where you live ?
Have you been diagnosed with any medical conditions in the past ?
Do you sweat a lot in other areas as well ? Or is it limited to your hands ?

Hyperhydrosis has many causes, but it's almost always nothing serious.

I'd see a dermatologist first, then maybe an endocrinologist if the former doesn't help.
