[HR]sweat dropping in the spoon.. is it safe?

So I've been doing speedballs all morning (coke and heroin). I was sweating so much that when i was cooking my last shot a nice drop of sweat from my forehead dropped into the spoon before I could draw it up. Would it be dangerous for me to actually shoot this up now that it has a drop of my own sweat in it? Blahh so lame of course it happens on my last one. Im hoping someone tells me it is no big deal.

Oh and hi everyone! This is my first post and if i get a good quick answer to this, which Im sure I will, ill be posting here more often :) .

My gut reaction is it should be fine as one drop is fuck all. AFAIK sweat is basically saline however I would personally research on wiki or some medical site exactly what sweat is made up of and base your decision on that.

It should be fine. Like Subtext said, it's basically just salt water, and sweat does have an antibacterial enzyme in it.

Took your guys' advice and yeah it was fine. Well it went in fine, and I'm okay for now. I guess its a bit early to say its 100% good, but I highly doubt anything is going to happen from this point on. Will update if anything out of the norm happens. Thanks for the replies guys.

I like what I'm seeing here, people are actually supportive and seem like they actually care about people practising safe drug use and harm reduction. I feel like I should have posted here a loooong time ago, it would have helped me sooo much in the past when I first started using. I think I'll be bookmarking bluelight and will be posting here actively.

There's lots of bacteria on the surface oif your skin, sweat is not sterile and will contaminate your shots.

Whether or not that means you get a toxic reaction is another thing.

Isn't sweat pretty much diluted urine? Sister learned something to that effects taking A&P and felt the need to make a germophobe freak the fuck out every time he sweats...lol

Yes, but do remember urine's sterile. Sweat is too, but it's usually exposed to the environment and your skin very rapidly so in practice it's not good to treat it as sterile.

Your skin is constantly exposed to dirt, dust, airborne pathogens and the like. Luckily it's an incredibly effective natural barrier and you have an immune system that is trained by constant exposure to prevent a huge percentage of them from ever proliferating even when they do get into your body.

The point still stands, I wouldn't want to get bodily fluids of any sort in your shot.

Just micron-filter it and you'll be fine. Micron-filters are capable of filtering bacteria out of your solution.

How do you know all this?

I realize that, but how did you learn all this? Are you a grad student or something? Self-educated with wikipedia?

you may be interested to know that there is an actual medical procedure (if i could only remember the name), where they aspirate urine straight out of your bladder, and introduce it back into your blood stream. I thought they were kidding me in class, but apparently it's something that's done to improve your immune system functions (IIRC).

I'm a long time user and have lots have user friends and I know this is disgusting, but, personally I have used everything from water thats been sitting in an open glass for 5 days, to flat Dr pepper, to water in a puddle in the street. I am alive and disease free. Lucky, I know. I don't think a drop of sweat will hurt you

They're not safe. People will still do them, even members of an HR forum. The primary cause of death with speedballs isn't the initial shot, but when the cocaine wears off and the excessive amount of heroin used (because the user can't feel the heroin as strongly during the initial rush with their normal amount) results in respiratory depression and failure, so in that manner, harm reduction is exercised by low-balling your heroin dosage and not doing enough cocaine to stop your heart. There's still thought to be an increased chance of an arrhythmia due to the combination of a powerful stimulant and depressant hitting at the same time, but I don't know of confirmed deaths resulting from this. It'd be hard to judge if someone dropping dead from a speedball right after injecting was dying due to a fucked up heart arrhythmia, or a classic cocaine-induced massive heart attack. No amount of IV coke is "safe," though, and speedballs certainly aren't.

As sterile as it is, urine is an important dispoal mechanism for e.g. excessive salt and such, injecting it seems a little much to me.

That's cause you have a healthy immune system. But what if you didn't? Just a thought.

Thi thread seems to have run its course. Anwered & Closed.
