Don't look in my eyes,
I'm afraid you'll see my skin's a lie.
I won't always read your mind,
not all of my kind is so intrusive.

Do you know what you're a part of,
do you know where this is headed?
Oh, how I'd like to turn this around,
but the world's spinning out of control,
an emotional cyclone.

I just kind of sit back and watch,
unblinking eyes enveloped in an indigo hue,
hearing the tick-tock and lost as to what to do.

And I feel this creeping up again,
how I hope this time I keep my head about me.
When the higher eye stretches wide,
I'll try and keep both feet nailed to firm ground this time.

Doubt is the torch I steer by,
and so I'll continue to pave this path all my own.
Inch my way with confidence over tight-ropes
hear the echoes as I laugh to the void down below.

Now, look in my eyes,
and see all our skins are just lies.
Swing back in memory, comfort you'll find,
through swallowing the disturbance
of a truth to which you've been so abusive.
