Sustained release morphine

Can you do anything with sustained release morphine capsules other than swallow them? Unfortunately oral morphine is shite - just causes headaches and nausea, is subluingal or..shudder...rectal worth a go? Can you break up the sustained release granules by chewing? I'd rather not inject it into the vein under my member if possible.

Different type I've got shm - these are standard capsules that you can simply pull apart and pour out the granules of morphine.
 
What make ? If they are the Amdipharm sp. then no

Caps with little balls in bomb proof if they had morphine SALTS in them then you are very lucky i doubt you have though .
 
Are you sure they are granules of morphine or are they granules of morphine in little plastic balls? The balls are unbreakable.
 
Can you still get those tiny Morphine Sulphate pills - I have no idea of mg's but I can remember having them with a drink and you had the wobble on? (This may belong in the Nostalgia thread?)
 
if they are 'wax matrix' pills the time release can be defeated slightly by thorough crushing and soaking in water for 24 hours. There are other far more complicated methods using dangerous chemicals. Morphine also has quite a low oral bio availabilty to start with even before the time release so im afraid unless yoiu are into injecting its pretty shit, and expensive shit, at that.

The balls can be crushed SHM. Quite easily between two spoons. I used to enjoy doing that. It was all part of the ritual. Easier to defeat them than the was matrix ones, as they always want to clump back up. After all the crushing and soaking i think just chewing the fuck out of the wax matrix ones before swallowing them is certainly the simplest but far from perfect solution.

Nonsense. No pills are unabusible. I've put things in a drill press before.

i ididnt say they were unusable. Just that the extended release things are a ball ache.

Btw necessity is the mother of invention is a great saying. It hasnt helped me invent free money yet though. Maybe i could do a bit of my own quantitative easing. Just print myself a few thousand pounds. :\

I dont want to have to start ebaying off my possesions and furniture that i get a lot of use out of. I upgraded everything when the times were good, might be forced to consider downgrading everythin again soon.

I suspect though that once im off bupe, i'll have the motivation to trawl round employment agncies. Last time i did that i got a job offer immediately - "can you start this afternoon?" 8o

I doubt things are so easy these days, but no harm in trying.

Ah - that had never crossed my mind! So they put the morphine in little plastic balls and that's the time release? Bugger. So snorting these plastic balls would be a little pointless. Maybe a thorough chewing or storing them under the tongue for...er 10 hours...might work.

Shite. Errol Flynn used to swear by morphine, presumably that was jacking it up tho.
 
Er..maybe they are as I think I've just done it. What dose shall I have then someone? No real opiate tolerance except the 300mg codeine one.
 
Theoretically, morphine is 5 times the strength of codeine(according to my medicinal chemistry text), provided you are a normal metabolizer, but 60 sounds way too high. The calculator I just popped it into said 45mgs, which is better. The thing about bioavailability that nobody on BL mentions is that the typical stated bioavailability is plotted in the middle of the absorption curve...

Have to factor in that you'll likely not be breaking the time release completely. Hope that helps!

I wouldn't take too high a dose shm - feels nice for about half an hour then you get a vicious throbbing headache and nausea for a good 5 or 6 hours.
 
Strange how you get less headache/nausea both with codiene and poppy tea. How come morphine is such a letdown orally when it's supposed to be the main active in the other two?
