Opioids Surgery Question and Roxicet

I posted about this earlier but I really need a few pieces of advice. I'm set to have abdominal surgery Friday (a lot of stomach problems) and I've been doing one 30 mg roxicet for about six months, every day for about four or five months. If I didn't tell my doctor (please don't tell me to tell my doctor, its not really an option) and I stopped doing them Wednesday, will I be okay? I don't see how this would react with the anesthesia seeing as how I'll stop doing them two days before the surgery but I would think this wouldn't be that high of a dose that would cause me to be in more pain from the normal dose of opiates they'd give me after surgery (do they give you opiates during surgery, too?). I have NEVER increased my dose but I'm scared about the reaction with anesthesia and if the opiates they give me afterward will not be strong enough since I've used these every day for the past six months. I would think its not high enough of a dose that it would matter but I just want some advice, I'm really freaking out. Thanks!
 
Im sorry for this OP but you should tell your doctor if you want adequate pain relief. They do give you opioids during surgery as well as anesthetic. Its just you will have more tolerance than expected by your doctors and could come off as drug seeking, but usually after surgery they just give you opiates till the pain is gone.

30mgs/day isnt a huge amount but daily use increases tolerance regardless. I mean i think you would be okay apart from being in more pain. But its usually good for the doctors/surgeons to know whats going on in a patients body.

And also, why not stop taking them NOW, why wait till Wednesday if you're really this concerned? Or at the very least, taper you're dose down if you don't want to wake up from your surgery in a world of pain. Not trying to scare you or anything but there's a limit to what they will give you for pain. I'm also a bit curious how you've managed a daily habit of 30mg for six months without upping your dose? I'd figure by now they shouldn't even be doing anything for your pain...

its really not smart to go into surgery with tolerence to the meds theyre going to be using for pain without telling your doctor, you probably wont die or anything but there gonna give you something for the pain and its not gonna work for shit cause you will have a tolerence, it won't matter if you took 2 days off, you will still definitly have a tolerence
 
Yeah, I've never upped my dose, I've been getting them off the street because they won't give me pain meds for stomach pain. I was told by some people that 30 mg isn't really that high of a dose compared to what others have been on and I have NEVER increased the dose. I mean, I figure they're going to be giving me morphine and harder opiates so I must have some pain relief from that, right? How would 30 mg of roxicet block any pain relief? I don't know, I just figure it would at least do something?
 
I guess I'm more worried about whether or not my use will react with the anesthesia, even though I won't be doing them past Wednesday.
