Surfers on Bluelight

hey bro I just started a few weeks ago. most ridiculously fun shit I've ever done (sides base jumping which was fun but also scary as hell).

Mehm also surfs (but doesn't lounge it up much). He's a cool guy.

surfing rocks

I only surf epic waves like the freak wave in the amazon river.

And the gnarly waves like the one that hit LITUYA BAY

I've been out a few times, but we don't always have the best of waves in Florida. Longboard waters for sure. I'm determined once I get a new car, though--that way I don't have to depend on other people wanting to go out. Only 25 minutes from the beach, I feel like I should be out every other day!

Can't. Landlocked. Want to, but all I have is a very fast moving river. I could probably build some skimboarding terrain with a shovel and rake in a mellow spot though. Skimboarding can be super fun. It's all you can do in Vancouver, because Vancouver Island blocks the surf from hitting the coastline. You have to go to the other side of the Island to surf. Apparently some of the spots are alright over there, but I haven't been there.

i surf...

i try and surf every weekend, as when i get home from work, its too late... dark and miserable

its coming into winter here now (sydney, australia) so the waves have been getting better, but the water has been getting colder...

i have been surfing for close to 2 years now i would say... got one big ugly fish (6'11"x21 3/4" 2) i think, and i recently got a new board for my birthday a quad fin 6'6" 19" and i love it...

i actually hope to be out in the water in about 8 hours depending on the weather

there is a thread is sports section here dedicated to surfing --- Surfers Unite!

I'm going in 2 days for a week or so. I live 8 hours away though and will soon to live 20 hours away :(

sucks

I might live next to half moon bay though in 1.5 years if all goes well! :D

I have two other hobbies though that I love: weight lifting and mountainbiking. I can do those landlocked so its all good.

I checked out your "surfers unite" thread ch0psy. Great thread, I wished I seen it earlier. Looks like the majority of the surfers on BL are from Oz. Not surprising.

Im from Ocean Beach which is an interesting beach community to say the least.
Pretty consistent, I usually surf the sand bar just north of the pier. Mellow crowd too.

I've surfed on and off for close to 20 years. Started getting back into it this year after pursuing alternative recreational activities. I have a 7'0 (shortish) board- Never owned a long board, but I need alittle more length to float me.

No swell expected in the imediate future. Its about ankle to at best waist high.
Water has warmed up, about 65F right now. Thinking of maybe getting my hair wet.

Hope you get waves on your trip sunyata. Half Moon Bay would be a good move.

Any way to merge threads?

Shark Biscuit AKA bodyboarder here. I've been looking at long boards recently though. I would like to give it a whirl.

I would be hitting up Newport Beach.

AKA dick dragger....just playin.

Yea Damien make the move to surf boards... you'll never regret it. Orange county has lots of good spots, with the benefit that that stretch of coast picks up south swells really good, alot of which pass us by. Swells mostly generated by storms in ch0psy corner of the world.

Checked the surf...its more like heel to ankle high. Probably wont padle out.
