Superstitions

I don't count myself as being supersticious, but there is one that i can't help but adhere to. Whenever i'm talking about something positive or how such and such hasn't happened yet, i still feel compelled to touch wood.8(

hehe actually, I find myself touching wood for the same reason all time - never thought about it until I just read your post.

A friend of mine was born on the 13th of November he believes number 13 is his LUCKY numberm and never had bad expereiences from it. He reckons if people worry too much about the number 13, some badluck will come on its way....... he keeps postive and laughs it off..... and ALWAYS wins $$$ at the casino everytime he goes there for this birthday. :)

I know its really dumb but i always wash the same cup first when i do the dishes and its always the first cup i will use.

I dont even know how it started but i just realsied one day that I did it and now i cant break the habit no matter how hard i try............Im scared it might bring bad luck.

My friend's mum would say that if you counted the stars using your finger to point whilst counting you would get that many warts growing on your hand.

That's more like obsessive/compulsive disorder than superstition.

^^^^ Yeah maybe ur right.

I used to coach soccer teams and quite a number of the players would bend over and touch the ground and then proceed to make the sign of the cross on their chest before they went onto the field.
Actually this is a common one amongst soccer players who seem to genuinely believe that there god will ensure that there team wins if they do it...............strange but I always wondered if they were two different Gods if they were having like a big battle up there somewhere to decide who was gunna be the winner that day??

^^ hmmm I wonder if thats the reason my soccer career never took off ;)

It's just kids trying to copy their heros from Europe and South America.

^^^ for sure, although some were well into there teens.

But what happens if say two players....each from a different team do it??

Is it first in first served??

Or maybe whichever prayed last??

Or which one goes to church the most??

Maybe a study should be done to determine that stuff...........and I really do want to know what happens if the two Gods are different and hence if they have like a big fist fight or somethin.

Or maybe the Gods have like a ranking system up there or maybe they just play poker to decide..........hmmmm.......if I ever get to be a God i reckon thats how i would do it..........Im not bad at poker.

If I don't wear my hemet when snowboarding I might die.... I always seem to hurt myself when wearing no protection. Never had a big accident when wearing a helmet.

i prefer to wear clothes to big nights out that i've had good nights out in... if u know what i mean...

if i have a really shit day/night in particular clothes i won't wear them for months... i dunno why...

I *never* walk under ladders...I'll walk out into the street before I walk under a ladder usually. Though this might be more because I'm scared some asshole's gonna drop a bucket of paint on me LOL....
