Wondering how many Aus Bluelighters saw the piece that Sunrise on channel 7 had on today about the effects of ectasy??

For those who did not see it the show has brought in a supposed medical know it all to tell concerned parents a little bit of background information about ectasy, what its chemical name is, street value, effects, that sort of thing.

It all sounded pretty credible until this supposed medical genius tells of sending a reporter to go and buy a street pill for laboratory testing. This guy then goes on to say to concerned parents and the uninformed public viewers that they found "Heroin, Cocaine, and an array of other non MDMA substances in the tablet purchased" 8( :p

I nearly fell of my stool and spilt my cereal all over me laughing. Atleast he could have said they found something in the tablet that was the least bit believable!:X

He then goes on to tell of the story of fifteen year old Sydney teenager, Anna Woods, who in 1995 died after ingesting an ectasy tablet. He goes on to say that Anna began to overheat and vomit, her friends realising something was wrong took her home to try to look after her. He states that she slips into a coma and dies in hospital some hours later.

Now although the facts stated are true there is an important fact that has obviously been deliberately left out of this story as it directly contradicts what this doctor is trying to preach.

In the case of Anna Woods it was concluded that she died of a cerebral oedema caused by accute water intoxication, in other words she drank far too much water which caused her brain to expand thus leading to her coma and eventual death. This information can be found in the coroners report published in the Erowid MDMA vaults.

I guess what I'm trying to get at is how can the nation as a whole be properly educated in these matters if the proper facts are not fully disclosed. Its obviously a scare tactic designed to make any prospective new ectasy user think twice about what they are taking or what could possibly be the outcome of their decision.

Anyway what is the opinion of all the Aus Bluelighters out there???

sounds like more bullshit to me, ecstasy is bad this... ecstasy is bad that...

FOOLS! ALL THE MORE FOR ME WAHAHAHA!

yea I saw this and I actually did spill my cereal when I heard the substances in that "tested pill". He also mentioned caffiene but that doesnt matter. The horror reflexes induced by that statement on average know-nothing retarts (mainly parents) that heroin and cocaine can be in an 'extacy pill' is ridiculous. They know nothing of the effects it will cause. it just astonishes me how people can be so ignorant and believe piece of shit tv shows like that. 8o 8o
:p :p :p :p :p :p :p

I pissed myself laughing when he said m--e---th---yyyy-leeeee--ne-------di----ox----y meT -------am---pheee--tt--amine

What about that story he told right at the end?? He didnt even explain it.

I wish they would do a piece on the big killer of young people in this country, Alcohol and stop dragging the death of Anna Woods up as this is what happens to young people when they try MDMA. It doesn't help anyone other than their shitty ratings.

^Yeah, how long are they gonna keep dragging Anna Woods ito these "discussions" to prove a point. Man I wish I could get some pills with coke in em mmmm mmm! Unfortunatally sunrise is 7's ratings winner and these stories always sell.., god I hate that David Koch!!!

FOOLS! ALL THE MORE FOR ME WAHAHAHA
Werd!

Watching that segment on sunrise just made me want to dump a few extra pills this weekend.

They are never going to say anything pro-drugs on a tv show like this, i dont know why people keep firing up about it.

yer how can we actually learn the truth about these so called bad substances when they arnt properly educating us. most people that die from gear are the ones that get really overwhelmed drown there brains in water (lol) and arnt smart about doing it and trying it in a good environment, or at least with people they trust..i feel bad for the uninformed aussie public and the shit mel and koshie are feeding them..rofl..

They need to educate alcohol drinkers. So much people in QLD have a stupid amount of alcohol, like between half a carton and a carton, and then proceed to go out and buy anything thats a pill on the streets. I overheard a conversation once while out, of someone buying a pill off someone next to me, saying he was not into pot or acid or anything "trippy", but he will have pills every weekend and drink. Then he asked "what are they H based, coke based or speed base?" He bought it anyway and didn't care what was in it, as long as its a little pill with a logo on it. You wouldn't see this person standing at the end of the strip asking people for a fifty bag of heroin to get his night into gear, or even asking around for coke or speed, but as long as it is in that little pill and he's drunk, he will buy it.

^^^Fucking hell people like that make me mad, and this whole story in general.

This is why kids don't listen to anything the government teaches them about drugs, because, while some of it may be true, they exagerrate things or give facts that are just plain wrong. And of course when we learn the truth, that its not nearly as dangerous as it's made out to be we stop listening to them altogether.

Yes, I saw the report on Sunrise as well, and thought "what an ignorant bunch of dickheads".

I also found some flaws in the psychologist's statements. Like when he claims they bought a pill, and looked at it under a microscope. Apparently they found heroin, cocaine, caffeine, etc!! 8o

HAHAHAHAHHA What the fuck do you expect to find by looking at a pill under the microscope?? 8(

They should have used GC/MS! Even if there were traces of those substances, they were likely to be from dealer handling, rather than a stupid chemist trying to put everything into the one pill. I don't think heroin and cocaine are even orally active at those dosages, and if they were trying to rip the consumer off, then they could have simply put something cheaper in them.
