HI-
I am not that interesting. I am an extreme horse lover who rides, trains, & competes in 3-Day Eventing. My avatar is my horse, he is a breed called a Gypsy Vanner an ancient breed used by the Romani (Gypsies) in Europe.
As far as drugs I am interested in basically prescription PKs and the best way to maximize their pain killing effects without the sedation so I can keep riding. Since I am in severe chronic pain after 40+ years of serious injuries. I have a 2 knee replacements, a hip replacement & more broken bones than I can remember. Plus severe back problems and injuries. This is the cost of my lifestyle, but for me I lived my life doing something I love and life can't get any better than that!! I have been on horses since the age of 3 and horse are just as much a part of me as my hand or leg.
I could care less than I have been & still get injured constantly and recently I was told never to jump or 3-day event again by my now ex-doctor. Since he stopped prescribing the only meds I use to keep riding which are: Tylenol with Codeine and Soma so I can handle the pain. He told I could chose pain relief or stop doing what I love. I know he was watching out for me, he knows 3-day eventing is probably the most dangerous type of riding, Christopher Reeve (God rest his Soul) rode in 3-Day Eventing & paid the ultimate price for doing what he loved,. Still, the choice was simple I would rather be in pain than never ride 3 day eventing. Just plain horse riding is not for me, it is like taking a fighter pilot and telling him you can only fly single engine planes or give a racecar driver a min-van! No way!
I hope to learn means of pain control using my mind to control my pain. Also alternative therapies like acupuncture will a great help. Any ideas and help on how to get the most relief from the small amount of PKs I do get so I can keep riding until I just can't anymore. For now I can ride and I intend to learn everything this site has to offer.
Also, I hope there are some horse lovers out there. I would love to meet you. I am also ready to make new friends. Just beware I am always talking about horses!!
Thank You Again!
