Sun Set Sigh

ohio/canton for now/hopefully not for long
this is just one of those
minute breaking tales
of two cute faces
kissing... holding hands
breathing in deep
exhaling smoke rings
and french inhales
from the same box of reds
legs swaying in pace
as the sun slowly sets
bleeding rivers of orange and
a solid red
laughter, and smiles
fade into the haze
the solid red slips down
with the beauty of the pair
watching the two
looking with envy
as it waits to cross eyes
with the lovely moon
drifting into place
as the cigarrets fly to the sidewalk
equally burning out
my heart is breaking
watching the two
setting back as the sun
lighting the last of the day
with one more sigh
one more moment to dream
goodbye

as I was reading this, I was like "damn...she's actually writing about something happy...". And then I got to the end...it was a nice picture you painted, and I totally feel you......

Beautiful

This poem is so beautiful I didn't want it to get buried just yet...I love when weather shows the emotions of the speaker of the poem. We've all felt this way before...thank you so much for sharing. I agree also that I'm a sucker for poems ending with a sunset. What a climax, what a metaphor for life!
