“Sun God”

The sun god is overwhelming
but never in the night
I feel like candy crunchin in a toddler’s mouth
and rearranged to be swallowed at bedtime
with delight until that time is right
Time is right

The sun god is shining spot on
but no, never in the night
Never in the night
Not ever in the night time

But this isn’t about me or my growth

Sun God is wanting one of its own
divine children to tell a dying saint
who is awaiting a well-paid visit to learn
about the love and laughter in the good heaven

So a lively, healthy child says to his faithful, friendly brethren
“God Bless and farewell to you, Reverend…”

In bed the saint prays and sure does accept hugs
but cannot speak, not even in tongues

because

During sunset in morning after wind chills, the blows are the only sorrows he’d even have still… nothing else breached between borrowed trust, huffy-puffs, and cheap thrills … The dying man has a last wish…for that which his last happiness would bring, for…
An angel of any kind to finely sing
softly and gently and finally sing
Amazing Grace till the last church bells ring

It may have been winter, it may have been spring
but I’m confident he shared a spirited greeting
since his soul floated way up to heaven and away
remembering the sun god cannot sing
The sun god cannot sing
not even in the day

Another awesome one... something since my last trip ive been thinknig about the contrast between the Sun and the Moon and the relation of Good and Evil to the Sun and the Moon and how religion conveys rebirth which could be said to be modeled after the descent and rise of the of the moon and sun from our vantage point on Earth. Want to elaborate more but dinner is ready will edit later.
