His Poems
Once on a white piece of paper with green lines, he wrote a poem....
And he called it "Skip", because that was the name of his dog, and that is what it was all about. And his teacher gave him an "A" and a gold star, and his mother pinned it to the kitchen wall and showed it to all his Aunts'. And that was the year that his sister was born; and his parent kissed all the time; and the little girl around the corner sent him a Valentine Card every year signed with a row of X's; and his father tucked him into bed every night. He was always there.
Then, on a yellow piece of paper with blue lines, he tried another poem.... And he called it "Autumn", because that was the season, and that was what it was all about. And his teacher gave him an "A" and told him to write more clearly, and his mother told him not to hang it on the wall because it had just been painted. And that was the year that his sister got glasses, and his parents never kissed anymore; and the little girl around the corner laughed when he fell down; and his father got pissed when he cried to be tucked in.
On a piece of notebook paper torn from a college notebook, he tried another poem.... And he called it "?", because that was his big concern. And his Professor gave him an "A", and a hard searching look, and his mother didn't say anything at all - because he didn't show it to her. And that was the year he caught his sister fornicating on the back porch; and the little girl around the corner wore too much make-up, so that he laughed when he kissed her, but he kissed her anyway; and he tucked himself into bed at two or three in the morning with his father snoring loudly with an empty bottle of whiskey in the next room.
And that is why, on the back of a matchbook cover, he tried another poem.... And he called it "Absolutely Nothing", because that's what it was really about. And he gave himself an "A" and a slash on each damp wrist, and he hung his poem on the bathroom door because he couldn't make it to the kitchen.

i'm not absolutely sure but i think this is the wrong poem, i read a similar one in a book called 'night falls fast' it's all about suicide, and the boy who wrote it was fifteen years old when he died, though i forgot his name.
when i find the book i'll post the one i know.
though still it's very sad either way.

it's in a book i read. i don't remember what it's called. wow, i'm really helpful. this poem is so amazing. everytime i read it there is such an intense reaction that i feel.
anyway, if i remember the book, it's worth reading.

this was unique... and sad. and awesome. and a whole lot of things lumped together.
a reminder how precious the little things in life are...
