Don't wnana spend more than I have to, but willing to spend whatever it takes for an accurate scale. How much do you think ill need to spend?

When it comes to things like this, you get what you pay for. When safety is involved you can never be too cautious.
My scale was around $100 and it's still off by +/- .002g.

Expect any scale, no matter how high quality, to have a margin of error of the lowest amount it can weigh. So for example a milligram scale has a margin of error of 1mg. A decigram scale has a margin of error of .1g, etc.

Also, buy a set of known calibration weights. This will help if your scale is off by any amount and even though you may not be able to fix the error, you will at least be aware of it and can take it into account when weighing sensitive compounds. This is especially important for compounds active at >10mg (ie the DO* series and several other psychedelics).

There is a lot of great info here as well - The Big & Dandy Scale & Balance Thread.

well according to that thread, you need to spend at least $100
I'd just buy the one I posted, since you don't have to spend extra on getting a calibration weight (it comes with it) but if you got that kind of cash, go all out. I've always wanted one of those badass 0.0000x scales we have in the chem lab at georgia tech

Yes, .001 is needed for most RC's depending on your poison.

A place that has new/used books and music etc. on the web has one I use.
Without naming brands. Look up .001 scale. Around $40.
This scale is cheap and only 3 mg give or take accuracy, though I think company claims 4 or 5. With a little modification to the weighting tray, I get within 1mg each time.

Used it plenty with PeeVee and Buphe.

If your measuring anything that you need to be more accurate than that, I wouldn't recommend going this cheap.

The measuring range of scales is not bound with the price range. It is just a matter of needs and choice. It depends upon what do you want and how do you want to complete it. There are many kinds of commercial scale which you may buy for your self.
Sometimes High price scales have less measuring range than the scales with low price and having more measuring range.
