i think we should have a kratom subforum within the drug disscussion forum...alot of threads and questions could be answered while keeping the focus on harm reduction...we could still keep it as no vendors or prices...but with so many different types/strains its difficult to have one concrete faq and i think questions should be answered as they come about...just a thought
 
I think a kratom pre-fix is much more likely than a subforum, but I really don't know all the particulars of traffic in Other Drugs. Thank you for your suggestion. :) I'll PM the OD mods in a bit to see if they have any ideas about your proposal.

I've actually witnessed this myself by following the 'views' number pre- and post-sticking.

Regarding its own forum.... by this logic, about 50 other drugs deserve their own sub-forum because they are more popular and used more than kratom. I don't even think this deserves its own prefix because its not anyway NEAR as widely discussed as buprenorphine, heroin, benzodiazepines, amphetamines, opiates or RC's... I think we should change 'opiates' to 'opioids' but that's neither here nor there.

I understand that you want more information about particular strains/types but overwhelmingly these are inextricably linked to specific vendors. We've had to edit SO MUCH of the major kratom threads because people will list a certain "type" and if you google that type, it directs to a specific vendor.

If you want product review type threads then there are certainly forums out there for that but I can't imagine this ever being allowed in OD.

There has been substantial discussion on multiple occasions about breaking off an Opioid forum from OD and this was decided against for several reasons... and as enki alluded to, resulted in the development of the prefix system.
 
Kratom strains are not so complex to warrant their own forum. There is a thread all about kratom, and you can talk all you want about kratom whatever in that thread. All of us kratom lovers check out and interact with that thread.

Think of the thread as being the subforum in the forum of Other Drugs.

This is exactly what I would have said.

Plus Cane's point; if we had a forum for every substance, where would it end? It wouldn't.

There are also other sub-forums that kratom can be discussed in. Basic discussion can go in BDD, if you want to tell us "hey guys I am high on kratom!" you can do that in Drug Culture, and if you want to summarize an experience you have had with kratom, then Trip Reports would be a great place to start.
 
its just too much misinformation about kratom..maybe an faq?...that would be able to be edited freely
 
Only the person who creates the post (and staff) can edit it. If you would like to make a FAQ then we'd be happy to add it to the first post of the kratom mega thread and anyone who would like to add/change information just needs to ask one of us to do so.

We could even start a new mega thread based around your faq so your name would forever be attached to it and listed in the directory.
