Suggested methadone dose

I got a bunch of methadone from a friend and would like to know a good starting dose. I have been on subs for the past year at about 3mg a day. However, the past week I have been binging on oxy and have been taking 50-60mg (orally), three times a day. What would be a good recreational dose of methadone for me where I would feel nice but still be able to function? (I have a desk job)

I was thinking of starting with 30mgs. Thanks!

start at 50mgs and after 3-4 hours you aren't where you want to be take another 5-10mgs

Always be safe with methadone. Try 25-30mg or so; you can always take a little bit more, but don't redose and redose. Methadone has a very long half life, and can cause severe respiratory depression.

OP, I think you have a solid plan. It is very easy to redose if necessary. Overdoing sucks for everyone.

thats terrible advice! start at 10-20mg and work up from there. have a babysitter if you plan to re-dose, waiting 2-3 hours between doses

I am T +2hrs into a 30mg dose. This seems to be a good amount; I don't think I will do any re-dosing as all the horror stories freak me out. I just want to feel a little glow and not have any wd's.

I am sure LaCster meant well, but I agree that 50 mg would probably be too much. I am really glad I only took 30mg.
