I am currently being prescribed Subutex however I am required to go to the pharmacy in the morning to take it, they also crush it making it very difficult to dissolve without losing some. I am always in pain when I wake up (in the past I've had a take home version and when I take the same dose spread through the day it was fine)

I have pretty much been told I will not be able to get a take home version other then on the weekends. Back in America I was treated with suboxone and was giving it to take home where i come in twice a month so get new scripts. I am not looking to abuse any of this, I don't don't want to increase my dose and I want to be able to take it spread through the day. I actually managed to decrease it a little before I came here but since the change i have lost any progress I made before.

Does anyone know where in London there is a private doctor I can talk to about this, or does anyone go to a program that lets them take it home. I just want the ability to go on vacation again or spend a night somewhere and not need to worry about getting to the pharmacy the next day.

Any help would be amazing!

In my area there are 2 tiers of scripts, one being daily supervised pick up then the other you can pick up once a week but you have to give 3 clean tests then attend a group meeting once a week to be in this tier. I am pretty sure they are rolling that system out nationwide though so would be worth asking what the procedure is as nowhere will have you on daily pick up through the whole script unless you are using on top. I hate the early morning achey legs from subs, you need the dose right then -it's horrible feeling like shite and trekking up the chemists. Ask them about it mate.

Thats harsh. Why on earth do they crush it ? So you cant put it under your tongue and then remove it as soon as you've left the clinic and out of their sight? (should you wish to stcokpile the pills for any reason) And yeah it possibly could reduce the amount of bupe you are absorbing, as crushed powder just gets mixed up with a mouthfull of saliva, whereas the pills can be left firmly in one spot in a cavity under your tongue until its been completely absorbed without hardly any loss to saliva.

Yeah crushing it is cunty as you like (or as you don't like), they clearly don't trust you. Not that I advise doing so nor am proud of the fact but it was so easy to use slight of hand while on daily supervised that it was rendered totally pointless. I did not even hide the fact I was pocketing them either near the end and they never once said anything to me or any of my workers. I guess its bastards like me that cause them to crush it up. Ask them if you can pre-chew their sandwiches for them when you are next in there.

That's strange. I get two fortnightly scripts every four weeks of suboxone to take home. Used to have to do the same as you. supervised with it under my tongue, then daily pickups, then every few days now as it is. But I really don't understand why they say you will never get take-homes xxxx

It varies rather a lot around the country how you're treated on a subby script. They're pretty tight with us around here - don't trust us as far as they could throw us. I just got kicked off my script but I'd been on it for waaaaaaaaaaaaay longer than I was last time round before they let me have takehome. Was bastard daily pickup that messed it up for me. Well, it was me missing daily pick up that messed it up for me 8)

There's no common standard across the country. It's all a bit hit and miss. I've never heard of crushing pills though - that's just ridiculous. How are you supposed to keep that much powder under your tongue? Unless only on a low dose, I suppose. If it involves 8mg tabs then no chance. They're the size of minibuses 8o

They just cut you off your script?????
But what about withdrawals???
How long were you on it for?
I've been on suboxone since May 23rd of last year... so around 10 months now...
A friend was on suboxone for four and half years but that was, I think 2004, not sure...
Maybe they're cracking down... this government... I HATE them xxxx

Erm... can't recall precisely actually. About six months? Maybe a bit longer. Maybe a bit shorter. Thereabouts though. Was on it for a few years previously from the same place and never had problems. They do seem to be cutting back on scripts and kicking people off at the smallest of opportunities - making up silly rules and hoops to jump through and the like.

W/D? Pffft. As if they give a shit about such things. Thankfully I had a few put by so had enough to taper down with or I'd've been fukked and no doubt gone off on a full-agonist bender just to try to put it off for a while :\
